The article discusses issues reflecting the importance of intergenerational sports as an institution influencing the formation of social values, civic identity, health-saving attitudes, etc. The paper defines the main and specific functions of sport as a social institution. Based on the author's sociological research, the results are presented reflecting the attitude of participants of intergenerational sports groups to certain types of social impact that sports activities and events held in mixed age groups have.

On the basis of their rich personal material and the data in the literature, the authors point out the tendency to relate many types of angiotrophic neuroses to Raynaud's phenomenon disregarding their etiological and pathogenetic factors. Diagnostic errors occur particularly frequently in chronic chilblain of the limbs and its sequelae which are manifested by a characteristic complex of symptoms, successively changing vasomotor reactions in the distal parts of the limbs, the development of vegetative polyneuritis, and in severe cases also by affection of the motor apparatus of the hands. The disease is encountered mostly in workers working in the open air in subnormal temperature of the surroundings.

The author suggests a new method for operation in large and giant median abdominal hernias by correction of the disturbed anatomical relations of the rectus muscles by restoring their normal position and creating new sheaths for them from the cicatricial-aponeuritic sheets. The operation was conducted on 17 patients with a good outcome.

Based upon an experience with the treatment of 13 patients with arteriovenous glomus tumors of Barré-Masson the author describes the clinical course of the disease. Errors and problems of diagnostics of the disease are discussed. In none of the cases the primary diagnosis was correct.

Data have been obtained on three cats for analysis of statistic connections of electrical activity in the visual, parietal and somatosensory cortical zones during development of evoked potentials to photic signal in these areas, and also in periods previous to photic stimulation and on traces of its action. An increase in shown of the influence of activity in the visual area on that of the somatosensory zone in post-stimulus periods and a sharp increase of two-way connections between these areas against the background of a relative equilibrium of direct and backward connections in trace periods.
