We implement and characterize a protocol that enables arbitrary local controls in a dipolar atom array, where the degree of freedom is encoded in a pair of Rydberg states. Our approach relies on a combination of local addressing beams and global microwave fields. Using this method, we directly prepare two different types of three-atom entangled states, including a W state and a state exhibiting finite chirality.

The standard quantum limit bounds the precision of measurements that can be achieved by ensembles of uncorrelated particles. Fundamentally, this limit arises from the non-commuting nature of quantum mechanics, leading to the presence of fluctuations often referred to as quantum projection noise. Quantum metrology relies on the use of non-classical states of many-body systems to enhance the precision of measurements beyond the standard quantum limit.

Spontaneous symmetry breaking underlies much of our classification of phases of matter and their associated transitions. The nature of the underlying symmetry being broken determines many of the qualitative properties of the phase; this is illustrated by the case of discrete versus continuous symmetry breaking. Indeed, in contrast to the discrete case, the breaking of a continuous symmetry leads to the emergence of gapless Goldstone modes controlling, for instance, the thermodynamic stability of the ordered phase.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the potential benefit of spectral imaging, notably electron density imaging, in patients with suspected or confirmed coronavirus disease (COVID-19), by retrospectively reviewing the cases of four patients who each underwent two chest CT scans for confirmed COVID-19. The use of spectral CT with electron density imaging could improve the assessment of lung lesion extent in patients with early-stage COVID-19.

Objective: To describe neuroimaging findings and to report the epidemiologic and clinical characteristics of patients with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) with neurologic manifestations.

Methods: In this retrospective multicenter study (11 hospitals), we included 64 patients with confirmed COVID-19 with neurologic manifestations who underwent a brain MRI.

Results: The cohort included 43 men (67%) and 21 women (33%); their median age was 66 (range 20-92) years.

We present a neonate with a cervicofacial haemangioma complicated by the Kasabach-Merritt syndrome, respiratory distress due to airway compression and high-output heart failure. This haemangioma and intravascular disseminated coagulation, treated initially by aspirin, ticlopidine and corticosteroids, required more invasive treatment with superselective embolisation and interferon alpha-2a. The clinical outcome was good.

We report a rare case of colonic gallstone obstruction in a patient with cholecystocolic fistula. Diagnosis of this condition is usually difficult and only achieved at surgery. We review the radiological findings, particularly the CT findings, helpful for diagnosis: ectopic gallstone, biliary gas and fistula.
