Fault signals in high-voltage (HV) power plant assets are captured using the electromagnetic interference (EMI) technique. The extracted EMI signals are taken under different conditions, introducing varying noise levels to the signals. The aim of this work is to address the varying noise levels found in captured EMI fault signals, using a deep-residual-shrinkage-network (DRSN) that implements shrinkage methods with learned thresholds to carry out de-noising for classification, along with a time-frequency signal decomposition method for feature engineering of raw time-series signals.

Design, Setting And Participants: In August 2006, the Australian Society for Medical Research (ASMR) invited all of its members to participate in an online survey. The survey took the form of a structured questionnaire that focused on career aspirations, career development and training opportunities, attitudes toward moving overseas to work, and employment conditions for medical researchers.
Aims: To determine the efficacy and safety of cryoablation for the treatment of atrioventricular nodal re-entry tachycardia (AVNRT).
Methods And Results: We analysed the procedural characteristics, acute success, and recurrence rates of 160 consecutive patients treated with cryoablation for the AVNRT and followed up for 18 months. Mean procedural time was 119.
Local gambling venues are an important contemporary context for older people's gambling in many parts of the world typically being more accessible to this segment of the population than traditional, centralised gambling venues, such as casinos. This study, undertaken in South East Queensland, analyses older people's electronic gaming machine (EGM) behaviour and motivations, specifically in the context of licensed social and recreational clubs-a popular local gambling venue in many parts of Australia. The study gathered data via a postal survey of 80 managers of licensed clubs, interviews with Gambling Help services and a survey of 414 people aged 60+ who regularly play EGMs, self-administered on site at local clubs.

In contrast, in dogs chronically infected with Dirofilaria immitis, the protein concentrations of ascitic fluid were found to be significantly lower than plasma protein concentrations. There are three areas in which Australian scientists have made outstanding contributions to the study of the chemotherapy of human parasitic infections. Naturally occurring products of plants have great potential as antiparasitic agents and although several native species have been shown to have antimalarial and anthelmintic activity, their potential as chemotherapeutic agents has not been fully realised; secondly, the demands of war ensured that the Army Malaria Unit at Cairns carried out meticulous and exceptional studies to evaluate new antimalarial compounds. Based on biochemical characteristics of electrophoretic karyotype, RFLP analysis and rDNA hybridization studies of 40 stocks at least two major varieties, or demes, of Giardia have infected the population of South East Queensland and environs during this period. These demes carried different rDNA repeat units and differed markedly in both the electrophoretic karyotype pattern and the molar representation of chromosome bands.
