Background: Multiple myeloma (MM) is a hematological malignancy characterized by bone marrow infiltration and osteolytic tumor formation. Despite advancements in the treatment of this disease, MM remains incurable and often leads to complications, such as multiple myeloma bone disease (MMBD). Surgical intervention is frequently necessary to manage symptoms associated with bone disease, including pain and fractures.

Method: We collected clinical data on patients with multiple myeloma and observed wound healing following surgical therapy. Additionally, we compared the expression of angiogenesis markers in patients with and without multiple myeloma (undergoing surgical excision of other tumour tissues).
Background: Although acetaminophen is widely used in women during pregnancy, its safety has not been clearly stated. The study aimed to investigate the association between acetaminophen use and adverse pregnancy outcomes in pregnant women in China.
Methods: We conducted a retrospective cohort study by collecting data on pregnant women who delivered in the Beijing Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital from January 2018 to September 2023.
Background: We report a case of spine infection with mucormycosis that manifested signs of paraplegia in a patient suffering from disseminated mucormycosis. Timely and effective surgery was performed. A review of the literature is included.

The disease clinically manifests as anemia, hypercalcemia, renal insufficiencies, and osteolytic damage. Osteolytic damage goes with severe bone pain, spinal instability, and pathological fracture, symptoms that are collectively referred to as multiple myeloma bone disease (MMBD).

Objective: To conduct a molecular epidemiological survey on the mitochondrial DNA C1494T mutation in non-syndromic hearing loss patients in Chinese population.
Methods: Polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP) were used to screen the mitochondrial DNA 12S rRNA C1494T mutation in 20 patients with aminoglycoside antibiotic induced hearing loss, 136 sporadic non-syndromic hearing loss patients and 50 probands of pedigrees with non-syndromic hearing loss.
Results: The C1494T mutation did not appear in all cases except for the positive control.
