Objectives: Despite its utility, interpreting multiparameter flow cytometry (MFC) data for hematologic malignancy remains time-intensive and complex. This study evaluated the applicability of two dimensionality reduction (DR) algorithms, t-distributed stochastic neighbor embedding (t-SNE) and uniform manifold approximation and projection (UMAP), to MFC data of hematologic malignancy.
Methods: A total of 237 samples were re-analyzed by t-SNE- and UMAP-based gating: 80 with acute leukemia orientation tube panel, 42 with B-cell lymphoma (BCL) panel, 45 with multiple myeloma (MM) panel, 40 and 30 with measurable residual disease (MRD) panels for B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B-MRD) and MM (MM-MRD), respectively.

Purpose: The present study focused on the acoustic and articulatory realization of English lexical stress in Mandarin second-language (L2) speakers of English. We aimed to understand (a) how suprasegmental and segmental features were used in the acoustic domain and (b) how lingual and nonlingual articulators were manipulated in the articulatory domain during the production of lexical stress.
Method: Production of stress minimal pairs (e.
Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) comprises the majority of primary liver cancers and possesses a low 5-year survival rate when in the advanced stages. Anillin (ANLN), a key player in cell growth and cytokinesis, is implicated in HCC development. Currently, no treatment agents are known to suppress ANLN.

Background: mutations are associated with poor prognosis in myelodysplastic neoplasm (MDS) and AML. The updated 5th WHO classification and International Consensus Classification (ICC) categorize -mutated MDS and AML as unique entities. We conducted a multicenter study in Korea to investigate the characteristics of -mutated MDS and AML, focusing on diagnostic aspects based on updated classifications.

To exclude side effects from direct cell transplantation, extracellular vesicles (EVs) are great substitutes representing paracrine cell signaling. To build three-dimensional structures for implantation into the 5/6 nephrectomy model by incorporating bioactive materials, including multifunctional EVs (mEVs), porous PMEZE/mEV scaffolds were developed in combination with edaravone (EDV; E) and mEV based on PMEZ scaffolds with PLGA (P), MH-RA (M), ECM (E), ZnO-ALA (Z).

As the field advances, there is a vital need for efficient and reliable methods for assessing vascularization in real-time. The integration and performance of constructed biomaterials in living organisms rely on angiogenesis and vascularization, making it essential to evaluate vascular development and networks within biomaterials.

From this perspective, co-hydrothermal carbonization (Co-HTC) is a promising thermochemical process for converting organic waste into hydrochar. Hydrochar is a solid material whose physicochemical properties could make it suitable for adsorbing pollutants such as heavy metals.

Background: rearrangements (r), associated with various hematologic malignancies, involve more than 30 partner genes. Despite their clinical significance, reports on the clinicopathological characteristics of rare r remain limited. We investigated the characteristics of patients with myeloid neoplasms harboring r among those identified as having 11p15 translocation in chromosomal analysis.

The ETV6::ABL1 fusion defines a subgroup of myeloid/lymphoid neoplasms with eosinophilia and tyrosine kinase gene fusions. We report a case of extramedullary involvement and leukemic transformation in myeloproliferative neoplasm (MPN), where ETV6::ABL1 was initially overlooked but later detected in the blast phase. ETV6::ABL1 burden was very low during the MPN phase but increased substantially during the blast phase.

Accumulating evidence suggests that sleep loss and disturbances play a significant role in the biological aging process, early onset of disease, and reduced lifespan. While numerous studies have explored the association between biological aging and its drivers, only a few studies have examined its relationship with sleep quality.

Background: While multiple studies have investigated the relationship between metabolic syndrome (MetS) and its related traits (fasting glucose, triglyceride, HDL cholesterol, blood pressure, waist circumference) and DNA methylation, our understanding of the epigenetic mechanisms in MetS remains limited. Therefore, we performed an epigenome-wide meta-analysis of blood DNA methylation to identify differentially methylated probes (DMPs) and differentially methylated regions (DMRs) associated with MetS and its components using two independent cohorts comprising a total of 2,334 participants. We also investigated the specific genetic effects on DNA methylation, identified methylation quantitative trait loci (meQTLs) through genome-wide association studies and further utilized Mendelian randomization (MR) to assess how these meQTLs subsequently influence MetS status.

Ras homolog enriched in brain (Rheb1 and Rheb2), small GTPases, play a crucial role in regulating neuronal activity and have gained attention for their implications in cancer development, particularly in breast cancer. This study delves into the intricate connection between the multifaceted functions of Rheb1 in neurons and cancer, with a specific focus on the mTOR pathway. It aims to elucidate Rheb1's involvement in pivotal cellular processes such as proliferation, apoptosis resistance, migration, invasion, metastasis, and inflammatory responses while acknowledging that Rheb2 has not been extensively studied.
