Nanosized zeolite Y is used in various applications from catalysis in petroleum refining to nanofillers in water treatment membranes. Ball milling is a potential and fast technique to decrease the particle size of zeolite Y to the nano range. However, this technique is associated with a significant loss of crystallinity.

Article Synopsis
  • Hydrophobic PVDF-HFP nanowebs were created using an electrospinning technique to collect fog from the air.
  • The water droplets on these nanomats displayed high contact angle hysteresis, meaning they resisted rolling off the surface.
  • By treating the nanomats with lubricants, the ability for water droplets to roll off improved significantly, with smaller droplets rolling off more easily.

We report a simple wet-chemical process to prepare porous CuO nanobelts (NBs) with high surface area and small crystal grains. These CuO NBs were mixed with carbon nanotubes in an appropriate ratio to fabricate pseudocapacitor electrodes with stable cycling performances, which showed a series of high energy densities at different power densities, for example, 130.2, 92, 44, 25, and 20.
