Methods: Thirteen migraineurs with aura and 16 healthy controls received integrated PET/MRI brain scans with [C]PBR28, a radioligand that binds to the 18 kDa translocator protein, a marker of glial activation. Background And Objectives: Quantitative MRI (qMRI) permits the quantification of brain changes compatible with inflammation, degeneration and repair in multiple sclerosis (MS) patients. In this study, we propose a new method to provide personalized maps of tissue alterations and longitudinal brain changes based on different qMRI metrics, which provide complementary information about brain pathology.
Methods: We performed baseline and two-years follow-up on (i) 13 relapsing-remitting MS patients and (ii) four healthy controls.
Although having a relatively homogeneous cytoarchitectonic organization, the cerebellar cortex is a heterogeneous region characterized by different amounts of myelin, iron and protein expression profiles. In this study, we used quantitative T and T* mapping at ultra-high field (7T) MRI to investigate the tissue characteristics of the cerebellar gray matter surface and its layers. Detailed subject-specific surfaces were generated at three different cortical depths and averaged across subjects to create averaged T- and T*-maps on the cerebellar surface.
