[A model for assessing and correcting the risk of developing pressure ulcers in the system of long-term care for geriatric patients with limited mobility.].

The article is devoted to the results of the third stage of the scientific and practical project on the introduction of advanced social practices based on innovative gerontotechnologies into the system of long-term care for geriatric patients. It has been established that senile xerosis or skin «frailty» occurs in 75% of the population over 65 years old, when increased dryness of the skin leads to peeling, the formation of microcracks, the appearance of senile itching, sleep disturbances, the development of pressure ulcers and, as a result, a decrease in motor activity. During the project, a tactic was developed for the care of «frail» skin in patients with senile xerosis and the risk of pressure ulcers.

Cardiovascular and Renal Comorbidities Included into Neural Networks Predict the Outcome in COVID-19 Patients Admitted to an Intensive Care Unit: Three-Center, Cross-Validation, Age- and Sex-Matched Study.

Here, we performed a multicenter, age- and sex-matched study to compare the efficiency of various machine learning algorithms in the prediction of COVID-19 fatal outcomes and to develop sensitive, specific, and robust artificial intelligence tools for the prompt triage of patients with severe COVID-19 in the intensive care unit setting. In a challenge against other established machine learning algorithms (decision trees, random forests, extra trees, neural networks, k-nearest neighbors, and gradient boosting: XGBoost, LightGBM, and CatBoost) and multivariate logistic regression as a reference, neural networks demonstrated the highest sensitivity, sufficient specificity, and excellent robustness. Further, neural networks based on coronary artery disease/chronic heart failure, stage 3-5 chronic kidney disease, blood urea nitrogen, and C-reactive protein as the predictors exceeded 90% sensitivity and 80% specificity, reaching AUROC of 0.

The article contains information about emerging adverse drug reactions, as well as methods for diagnosing, correcting and preventing phototoxic and photoallergic reactions in patients of older age groups. The main aspects of dermatological support in the system of long-term care for geriatric patients when taking drugs with a risk of photosensitivity are outlined.

[The role of optical coherence tomography angiography in the assessment of retinal microcirculation in thrombotic microangiopathy associated with malignant arterial hypertension].

Purpose: To evaluate retinal microcirculation using OCT-A imaging data in the group of patients with TMA associated with MAH.

Material And Methods: The study consisted of a qualitative and quantitative analysis of OCT-A data from 7 patients (14 eyes) with TMA associated with MAH and verified by renal biopsy.

Quantitative method for the determination of antibiotic-resistant gut bacterial strains for the early diagnosis of chronic arthritis.

Based on the clinical and microbiological monitoring of two groups of children aged 3 to 17 years with acute (n=78) and chronic (n=46) course of reactive arthritis (ReA), a method for early diagnosis of chronic arthritis was developed by determining the number of antibiotic-resistant coprostrains in patients with ReA, characterized by the absence of the need to isolate a pure culture of the pathogen and its identification; inoculation of faeces at a dilution of 10-5 on solid 1.5% GRM-agar with an antibacterial agents used in the treatment of a particular patient, at a minimum inhibitory concentration in the resistance range, followed by incubation and counting of the colonies of microorganisms grown on the plate. A significant relationship between the number of antibiotic-resistant gut bacterial strains and the course of arthritis (acute, chronic) was revealed, and the borderline value of the number of antibiotic-resistant gut bacterial strains was determined - 5×103 CFU/g, which allows differentiating the acute course from the chronic one: in the acute course< 5×103 CFU/g, with chronic - ≥ 5×103 CFU/g.

Semen microbiota and cytokines of healthy and infertile men.

In this study, we determined the levels of cytokine secretory inhibitors and the microbiota biofilms of semen from healthy and infertile subjects. A total of 118 clinical bacterial isolates were isolated and tested. Cytokine secretory inhibitors were determined based on the difference in cytokine content between the control and experimental samples of cell-free supernatants of isolated microorganisms.

[Ocular ischemic changes in thrombotic microangiopathy associated with malignant arterial hypertension (case study)].

The article presents a clinical observation of visual organ damage as an extrarenal manifestation of thrombotic microangiopathy in malignant arterial hypertension with an analysis of structural and functional changes in the eye by modern examination methods. The presence of renal thrombotic microangiopathy was verified by kidney biopsy. Optical coherence tomography was used to determine structural changes in the inner and outer layers of the retina in the form of their disorganization, areas of thickening of the nerve fiber layer, intraretinal inclusions and cysts, alterations of the ellipsoid zone and retinal pigment epithelium.

Background: The aim of this study was to obtain the first national estimates of the current prevalence and incidence and death of health care-associated infections (HAIs) of all types in acute care hospitals in Ukraine.

Methods: Prospective surveillance was conducted from January 2014 to December 2016 in 17 hospitals. Surveillance case definitions were derived from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's National Healthcare Safety Network HAI case definitions.

Stem/progenitor cells are thought to have the potential in the treatment of severe neurodegenerative diseases. Recently, sympathoadrenal progenitors expressing specific markers of neural crest derivatives and capable to differentiate into neurons were discovered in adult bovine and human adrenal glands, but there was no reported data on cryopreservation of sympathoadrenal progenitors. Materials And Methods: Anti-cytokine activity of metabolites of bifidobacteria clinical strains and their ability to influence the production of pro- and anti-inflammatory cytokines (IL-10) by peripheral blood mononuclear cells of healthy humans was studied, taking into account microecological state of the human intestine. Determination of final concentration of cytokines in experimental and control samples was carried out by EIA.

[HEALTH STATUS AND DEVELOPMENT OF CHILDREN BORN USING IVF].

In the work the analysis of incidence, the dynamics of physical development during the first year of life among 28 children born using IVF was conducted. It was found out that during the first year of life these children have certain patterns of growth and development, as well as a wide range of diagnosed pathology. Thereby observing children of this category should be optimized.

Adhesion, growth, and proliferation of endothelial cells on biopolymer extracellular film matrices.

We analyzed the influence of initial properties of biopolymer fi lm extracellular matrices made of chitosan on adhesion of swine embryonic kidney epithelium-like cells, their morphology, growth, and proliferation. It was found that adhesion index of cells on the studied matrices was similar, but cell morphology had significant qualitative differences. Round non-flattened cells were described in endothelial cell cultures on chitosan-based matrices.

Effect of delta sleep-inducing peptide on the expression of antioxidant enzyme genes in the brain and blood of rats during physiological aging.

Subcutaneous injections of exogenous delta sleep-inducing peptide in a dose of 100 μg/kg (monthly, 5-day courses) to rats of various age groups (2-24 months) were followed by an increase in the expression of genes for SOD 1 (Sod1) and glutathione peroxidase 1 (Gpx1) in the brain and nucleated blood cells. The expression of these genes was shown to decrease during physiological aging of the body.

[Rat tissues antioxidant status correction by peptide delta sleep during physiological aging of the organism].

It is shown that exogenous delta-sleep inducing peptide increases glutathione antioxidant system level in rat tissues at different stages of ontogenesis, by subcutaneous injection to rats 2-24 months postnatal development in a dose of 100 mg/kg animal body weight by courses of 5 consecutive days per month, and this effect is especially marked in non-renewable postmitotic tissues.

[Metabolic effects of delta-sleep inducing peptide during physiological aging of the organism].

Subcutaneous injection of delta-sleep inducing peptide (DSIP) to postnatal rats (aged from 2 to 24 months) during 5 consecutive days every months at a dose of 10 microg/100 g body weight favors normalization of the age-related changes in carbohydrate metabolism and shows hypoglycemic effect, as manifested by a decrease in the level of glycosylated hemoglobin in erythrocytes of test rats. The administration of DSIP in postnatal rats of different age also led to a decrease in serum total lipid level, total cholesterol level, and atherogenicity index and an increase in the level of high-density lipoprotein cholesterol.
