Experiences of pediatric cancer patients (age 12-18 years) with extensive germline sequencing for cancer predisposition: a qualitative study.

This study explored the experiences and needs of adolescents, ranging from 12 to 18 years old, who have recently been diagnosed with cancer and participated in a nationwide germline genetic sequencing study within the context of pediatric oncology. The 21 adolescents in this qualitative interview study viewed genetic sequencing as an integral part of their cancer journey. They often characterized germline sequencing as "good-to-know" without specifying immediate utility.

Parents' experiences with large-scale sequencing for genetic predisposition in pediatric renal cancer: A qualitative study.

Objective: In pediatric oncology, large-scale genetic sequencing contributes to the identification of cancer predisposition, which can facilitate surveillance and family counseling. Our qualitative study explores families' motives, knowledge, and views regarding germline genetic sequencing to improve future counseling and support.

Attenuation of haemodynamic responses to laryngoscopy and endotracheal intubation with intravenous dexmedetomidine: A comparison between two doses.

Background And Aims: Laryngoscopic manipulation and endotracheal intubation are noxious stimuli capable of producing tachycardia, arrhythmias and hypertension. The aim of this study was to arrive at an optimal dose of dexmedetomidine by comparing two doses with placebo to attenuate stress response during laryngoscopy and endotracheal intubation.

Methods: It was a randomised, prospective, double-blind placebo-controlled study.

Effect of Oral Pregabalin as Preemptive Analgesic in Patients Undergoing Lower Limb Orthopedic Surgeries under Spinal Anaesthesia.

Introduction: Conquering postoperative pain which has significant impact on the surgery outcome can be challenging for the clinicians. Pregabalin is a GABA analogue used for various neuropathic pain syndromes. Very few studies are there with the use of pregabalin as a preemptive analgesic for orthopedic surgeries.

A Safe Alternative in Neurofibromatosis for Lower Limb Surgeries: Combined Femoral and Sciatic Nerve Block.

Neurofibromatosis (NF) is a neurogenetic disease with multiple systemic involvement. In this case report we describe the successful management of a patient with NF posted for lower limb wound debridement with multiple neurofibromas over the back and face causing difficulty in spinal anesthesia and general anaesthesia. Combined femoral and sciatic nerve block was used as a safe alternative anaesthetic approach.
