Objective: To compare menopause-related quality of life (QoL) after risk-reducing salpingectomy (RRS) versus risk-reducing salpingo-oophorectomy (RRSO) until 3 years of post-surgery.
Design: A prospective study (TUBA study) with treatment allocation based on patients' preference. Data were collected pre-surgery and at 3 months, 1 and 3 years of post-surgery.
This paper presents a validated method using ultra-high pressure liquid chromatography with photodiode array detection coupled to high-resolution mass spectrometry (UHPLC-PDA-HRMS) for the simultaneous analysis of a wide range of natural and synthetic organic colourants, including neutral, acidic and basic dyes. In total, 30 natural and 62 synthetic organic dye reference samples (which contain 118 compounds because some of the dyes are composed of mixtures) were analysed. The method demonstrated good linearity for the 12 dyes selected for method validation achieving correlation coefficients (R) exceeding 0.

Their trophic regulation shapes the composition and ecosystem services of the soil microbiome, but the underlying population dynamics of bacteria and archaea are poorly understood. We followed soil respiration and 221 dominant bacterial and archaeal 16S rRNA gene amplicon sequencing variants (ASVs) in response to top-down control by a common bacterivorous soil nematode, Acrobeloides buetschlii, bottom-up control by maize litter amendment and their combination over 32 days.

An example is our deep-learning model, designed to automatically detect serous tubal intraepithelial carcinoma (STIC), the precursor lesion to high-grade serous ovarian carcinoma, found in the fallopian tube. However, the standalone performance of a model is insufficient to determine its value in the diagnostic setting.

Management needs optimisation. This study explores professionals' opinions and clinical practices regarding the diagnosis, counselling, treatment and follow-up of isolated STIC to facilitate clinical decision making and optimise the direction of future research.

Women with an increased inherited risk for EOC are advised to undergo a risk-reducing salpingo-oophorectomy (RRSO), which decreases their EOC risk by 96% when performed within guideline ages. However, it also induces premature menopause, which has harmful consequences.

Pyrolysates resulting from the pyrolytic intermolecular chain scission of the polysaccharides were used to elucidate monomeric units. Polysaccharides, dispersed in the phenolic lacasse catalysed cross-linked macromolecules, showed to be metabolised through various catabolic and anabolic routes.

Two studies have demonstrated a positive effect of salpingectomy on menopause-related quality of life and sexual health compared with standard risk-reducing salpingo-oophorectomy.
Primary Objective: To investigate whether salpingectomy with delayed oophorectomy is non-inferior to the current standard salpingo-oophorectomy for the prevention of tubo-ovarian cancer among individuals at high inherited risk.
In this work, a microfluidic photoreactor was embedded in a recycling liquid-chromatography system. Mixtures were separated on an analytical column and compounds of interest were subsequently introduced into the light-reactor cell. After degradation, the content of the light-reactor cell was reinjected onto the same column to separate the parent compound from its degradation products.

In this study we evaluated whether mutational analysis in cervicovaginal and endometrial samples could assist in the detection of ovarian cancer.
Methods: In this prospective multicenter study, we included patients surgically treated for either (suspicion of) ovarian cancer or for a benign gynecological condition (control group).
Background: Increasing numbers of BReast CAncer (BRCA) 1 or 2 pathogenic variant (PV) carriers, who have an inherited predisposition to breast and ovarian cancer, are being identified. Among these women, data regarding the effects of contraception on cancer risks are unclear and various guidelines provide various recommendations.
Objective And Rationale: We aim to optimize counselling regarding contraception for BRCA1/2-PV carriers.
Two-dimensional liquid chromatography (2DLC) offers great separation power for complex mixtures. The frequently encountered incompatibility of two orthogonal separation systems, however, makes its application complicated. Active-modulation strategies can reduce such incompatibility issues considerably.

It poses challenges when food deteriorates or when objects of cultural heritage fade, but it can also create opportunities applied in advanced oxidation processes in water purification. Studying photodegradation, however, can be difficult because of the time needed for degradation, the inaccessibility of pure compounds, and the need to handle samples manually.

Conventional methods to do so can be rather time-consuming, laborious, and prone to experimental errors. In this paper we evaluate an integrated and fully automated system for the study of light-induced degradation, comprising a liquid handler, an irradiation source and exposure cell with dedicated optics and spectrograph, and a liquid chromatography (LC) system.

Currently, different chromatographic techniques are used to analyze natural and synthetic dyes separately, since the classes differ significantly in chemical properties and, therefore, chromatographic behavior. To save time, costs and sample material, we developed a method suitable for a wide variety of organic colorants using ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography coupled to a photo-diode-array detector.

The etiology of PC is not yet clarified, but may be related to serous tubal intraepithelial carcinoma (STIC), the postulated origin for high-grade serous cancer. In this systematic review and individual patient data meta-analysis, we investigate the risk of PC in women with and without STIC at RRSO.

Adequate and reproducible diagnosis of these precursor lesions is important. Diagnosing STIC can have prognostic consequences and is an absolute requirement for safely offering alternative risk reducing strategies, such as risk reducing salpingectomy with delayed oophorectomy.

Our primary aim was to investigate the proportion of germline BRCA1/2 PVs per histological subtype. Additionally, we evaluated (i) proportion of somatic BRCA1/2 PVs and (ii) proportion of germline PVs in other ovarian carcinoma risk genes.

In the TUBA-study, a multicenter preference study (NCT02321228), BRCA1/2-PV carriers are offered a choice: the standard strategy of risk-reducing salpingo-oophorectomy or the novel strategy of risk-reducing salpingectomy with delayed oophorectomy. We evaluated feasibility and effectiveness of a patient decision aid for this choice.

Because the fallopian tubes play a key role in ovarian cancer pathogenesis, salpingectomy with delayed oophorectomy may be a novel risk-reducing strategy with benefits of delaying menopause.
Objective: To compare menopause-related quality of life after risk-reducing salpingectomy (RRS) with delayed oophorectomy with RRSO in carriers of the BRCA1/2 pathogenic variant.
