These behaviors can lead to social exclusion, and consequently social isolation. The aim was to compare social isolation of children and adolescents with ASD according to age, marital status, and number of siblings.

This work focuses on characterize, calibrate, and compare Cartographer, Gmapping, HECTOR-SLAM, KARTO-SLAM, and RTAB-Map SLAM algorithms. There were four metrics in place: pose error, map accuracy, CPU usage, and memory usage; from these four metrics, to characterize them, Plackett-Burman and factorial experiments were performed, and enhancement after characterization and calibration was granted using hypothesis tests, in addition to the central limit theorem.

Purpose: To assess the efficacy, safety, and quality-of-life outcomes of doxycycline 50 or 100 mg once daily in the prevention of skin toxicity in patients undergoing chemotherapy plus anti-EGFR therapy as first-line treatment of metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC).
Methods: Phase II, multicenter, single-arm, exploratory study was conducted in 7 Spanish hospitals. The primary study outcome was the incidence of ≥ grade 2 skin toxicities during the 6-week skin treatment period.

Canonical correlation analysis (CCA) is one of the most used algorithms in the steady-state visual evoked potentials (SSVEP)-based brain-computer interface (BCI) systems due to its simplicity, efficiency, and robustness. Researchers have proposed modifications to CCA to improve its speed, allowing high-speed spelling and thus a more natural communication. In this work, we combine two approaches, the filter-bank (FB) approach to extract more information from the harmonics, and a range of different supervised methods which optimize the reference signals to improve the SSVEP detection.

In recent years, much attention has been given to the search for new interventions to slow down the progression of cognitive decline of these patients. Wearable digital camera devices are one form of new technology that captures images of one's life events, so they constitute a promising method to be used as a means to stimulate recent autobiographical memory.

The aim of primary prevention is to decrease the incidence of cancer by avoiding the known causes and risk factors. Nevertheless, it has been estimated that cancer diagnoses could be halved through primary prevention measures.

A central question in cognitive neuroscience is how cognitive functions depend on the integration of specialized widely distributed brain regions. In recent years, graph theoretical methods have been used to characterize the structure of the brain functional connectivity. In order to understand the organization of functional connectivity networks, it is important to determine the community structure underlying these complex networks.

Venous grafts develop pathologically occlusive disease that limits the effectiveness of CABG, and antiplatelet drugs following operation may limit this problem. The types and indications of antiplatelet drugs following CABG generate some controversy in the recent literature.

Objective: To provide a mechanism for identifying a high-risk group of patients with postoperative complications who are at a substantially increased risk for failure to rescue.
Purpose: An association between neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) and second primary malignancies (SPMs) has been reported. We have examined the incidence and etiology of SPMs in patients with NETs included in the Neuroendocrine Tumor Association of Andalusia (ATNEA) Registry.
Methods: Data on 111 patients were collected.
We have compared the effects of different 12-week exercise programs on simple and choice reaction and movement times in persons 61 to 84 years old. One hundred thirty-eight volunteers were randomized to either a control group, a two-day exercise group (two 60-min sessions a week of aerobic exercises), or a two-day physical plus cognitive exercise group (two 60-min sessions a week of aerobic and cognitive exercises). At follow-up, the aerobic and cognitive exercise program was found to have resulted in significant positive effects.

Methodology: 63 children aged 5 to 14 were included. At least two fecal samples were taken to which two different tests were applied, first one directly and the other one for concentration: Ziehl-Neelsen modified and Kato Katz.
Objective: Establishing the prevalence of intestinal parasitism in children aged 5 to 14 years of age from six indigenous communities residing in the city of Cali.
Methodology: A cross-sectional, descriptive epidemiological study was carried out in six indigenous communities residing in the city of Cali; it consisted of making a direct serial and concentration coproparasitological examination of a randomly selected sample of fifty-seven 5 to 14 year-old children.
Results: Of the 57 samples obtained, 84 % of the children were infected with parasites; protozoa (98 %) predominated over helminths (16.

There is a growing need to develop measures that can characterize complex patterns of functional connectivity among brain regions. Graph theoretic measures have emerged as an important way to characterize the multivariate connectivity between nodes in a network, which have been successfully applied to neurophysiologic activity. In this paper, we propose a new small-world measure based on advances in both the bivariate measures underlying the graph theoretic approach, as well as in the definition of the measure for weighted graphs.

Background: Coxiella burnetii is a highly clonal microorganism which is difficult to culture, requiring BSL3 conditions for its propagation. This leads to a scarce availability of isolates worldwide. On the other hand, published methods of characterization have delineated up to 8 different genomic groups and 36 genotypes.

Our laboratory has established a well-curated, high-quality repository of human myocardial tissues that we use as a discovery engine to identify putative therapeutic transgene targets, as well as to better understand the molecular basis of human heart failure. By using this rare resource we were able to examine age- and sex-matched left ventricular samples from (1) end-stage failing human hearts and (2) nonfailing human hearts and were able to identify the X-linked inhibitor of apoptosis protein (XIAP) as a novel target for treating cardiac dysfunction.
