Experiments were performed on cultured slices of rat ventral hippocampus. Using extracellular stimulation and patch clamp recording from pyramidal neurons in the hippocampal CA1 area, we studied characteristics of GABAergic synapse formed on these neurons by cholecystokinin-expressing interneurons. This synapse was characterized by asynchronous release of GABA and depolarization-induced suppression of inhibitory response.

The effects of cold plasma on Deinococcus radiodurans, plasmid DNA, and model proteins were assessed using microbiological, spectrometric, and biochemical techniques. In low power O(2) plasma (approximately 25 W, approximately 45 mTorr, 90 min), D. radiodurans, a radiation-resistant bacterium, showed a 99.

An analysis of 136 clinical observations has shown that clinical symptoms and additional methods of examination (X-ray analysis of the chest, ECG, puncture of the pleura and pericardium) are sufficient for timely diagnosis of wounds of the heart and pericardium. The necessity of urgent operation prevents using complex diagnostic methods. Outcomes of the treatment are dependent on the time of admission of the patient to the hospital and timely operative interventions.
