The efficacy of physiotherapy (induction therapy, microwave irradiation, acupuncture) for chronic bronchitis with obstructive syndrome (254 patients) was evaluated in relation to the disease genesis and the nature of bronchial obstruction by clinical, functional and biochemical evidence. The best results in restoration of the bronchial patency were obtained in patients with transient obstruction of allergic origin. This fact can be attributed to enhancement of the activity of proteinase alpha 1-inhibitor and kininogenase inactivation.
