Effectiveness and Safety Profile of Urethral Bulking with Bulkamid for Stress Urinary Incontinence: A French Multi-Center Cohort Study.

Introduction And Hypothesis: Various treatment options are currently available for the management of stress urinary incontinence (SUI). This study was aimed at determining the effectiveness and safety profile of Bulkamid, and identify predictive factors of clinical success.

Methods: This retrospective study conducted in two French urogynecology university centers between September 2019 and December 2023 included all patients with urinary incontinence who received Bulkamid.

The safety of activated eptacog beta in the management of bleeding episodes and perioperative haemostasis in adult and paediatric haemophilia patients with inhibitors.

Introduction: Haemophilia patients with inhibitors often require a bypassing agent (BPA) for bleeding episode management. Eptacog beta (EB) is a new FDA-approved recombinant activated human factor VII BPA for the treatment and control of bleeding in haemophilia A or B patients with inhibitors (≥12 years of age). We describe here the EB safety profile from the three prospective Phase 3 clinical trials performed to date.

Objectives: The Sterilization Unit of the Narbonne Hospital Center (France) has decided to embark on a process of NF EN ISO 9001: 2015 certification. The objective is to describe how the working group has appropriated the provisions relating to staff training in order to build a skills development plan for its Sterilization agents.

Methods: A multi-professional working group has been set up.

Use of reverse-transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) for carcinoembryonic antigen, cytokeratin 19, and maspin in the detection of tumor cells in leukapheresis products from patients with breast cancer: comparison with immunocytochemistry.

This study evaluates the role of reverse-transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) assay for carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA), cytokeratin 19 (CK19), and maspin transcripts to identify breast cancer cells (BCC) in leukapheresis products (LP) collected from breast cancer (BC) patients and compares these results with those obtained using immunocytochemistry (IC). Eighty-four LP obtained from 33 patients with stage II-III BC and control subjects without BC were screened for the presence of BCC by IC and CK19, CEA, and maspin expression using RT-PCR. CEA RT-PCR and IC were the only specific markers, as no false positives were detected in any patients without BC.
