Background: Urethral strictures post-hypospadias repair in adults is one of the most complex subjects in urethral reconstruction. Our goal is to provide an overview of the challenges encountered and the current treatment options.

Methods: A comprehensive literature review was conducted using PubMed for the period from 2020 to 2023.

Introduction: Cutaneous stoma stenosis represents a frequent complication associated with continent catheterizable channel, often necessitating recurrent patients' consultation, hospital admission, and repetitive surgical interventions. Management strategies encompass dilatation, incision, and, in case of refractory stenosis, invasive surgical revision.

Objectives: In this study, we aimed to assess the efficacy of buccal mucosa graft as an alternative therapeutic approach for managing cutaneous catheterizable channel stenosis.

Article Synopsis
  • Urethral stricture has a prevalence of about 0.9%, and while endoscopic treatments have been the primary approach, their effectiveness has led to a shift towards urethroplasty as the preferred treatment from 2013 to 2022.
  • Data from the Scansanté platform shows that while endoscopic procedures remain common, urethroplasties have increased noticeably since 2019, rising from 1,100 to 1,600 cases from 2020 to 2022.
  • Despite urethrotomies still outnumbering urethroplasties by a large margin, the gap is narrowing, and urethroplasty, particularly with augmentation techniques, is now recognized as

Objective: AI-derived language models are booming, and their place in medicine is undefined. The aim of our study is to compare responses to andrology clinical cases, between chatbots and andrologists, to assess the reliability of these technologies.

Material And Method: We analyzed the responses of 32 experts, 18 residents and three chatbots (ChatGPT v3.

Introduction: Urethral mesh perforation is a rare complication of mid-urethral sling resulting in a lack of clear management guidelines. Thus, we aimed to determine management options and their respective outcomes in terms of erosion resolution and continence.

Methods: A literature review was performed by extracting studies from the PubMed, Cochrane, and Google Scholar from January 1996 to December 1, 2022.

Purpose: We assess the efficacy, safety, and predictive factors for failure of synthetic mid-urethral slings for the treatment of urinary incontinence in a large cohort of women with neurogenic lower urinary tract dysfunction.

Materials And Methods: Women aged 18 years or older who received a synthetic mid-urethral sling for stress urinary incontinence or mixed urinary incontinence in 3 centers between 2004 and 2019 and who had a neurological disorder were included. Exclusion criteria were less than 1 year of follow-up, concomitant pelvic organ prolapse repair, previous synthetic sling implantation, and no baseline urodynamics.

Objective: The purpose of this first french guideline is to provide a clinical framework for the diagnosis, treatment and follow-up of anterior urethral strictures. The statements are established by the subgroup working on uro-genital reconstruction surgery (GURU) from the CAMS-AFU (Andrology and Sexual Medicine Committee from the French Association of Urology).

Material And Methods: These guidelines are adapted from the Male Urethral Stricture : American Urological Association Guideline 2016, updated by an additional bibliography from January 2016 to December 2019.

Purpose: Management of pregnancy and delivery in women with lower urinary tract reconstruction is challenging and the currently available literature is insufficient to guide clinical practice. We report pregnancy and delivery outcomes in this specific population.

Materials And Methods: We conducted a national multicenter retrospective study (16 centers) including 68 women with 96 deliveries between 1998 and 2019.

Purpose: We report the natural history and prognosis of tumors after augmentation enterocystoplasty, with a molecular analysis using an oncogene panel to search for potential targeted therapies.

Materials And Methods: This multicenter, nationwide, retrospective study included 16 patients. A panel of 21 clinically relevant oncogenes was tested on archival tumor specimens using next-generation sequencing.

Introduction: This study analyzed long-term functional outcome of continent catheterizable channels with the Mitrofanoff procedure, their continence, complications and the satisfaction of the patients.

Material And Method: Data from patients who underwent a Mitrofanoff procedure at our institution from June 1997 to March 2015 were retrospectively collected. All patients were contacted at the end of the study, a survey was submitted to them.

Aims: The aims of this study were to evaluate the efficacy and safety of endoscopic treatment of primary obstructive megaureter in children, and to assess its long-term outcome.

Methods: Case files of 35 children who had endoscopic treatment of symptomatic primary obstructive megaureter between 2006 and 2016 were retrospectively analyzed. All children had ureterovesical junction dilatation with one or more ureteral dilators, and insertion of a JJ stent.

Background: To evaluate the management and long-term renal function with DMSA scintigraphy in pediatric severe traumatic kidney injury grade IV and V at the trauma center of Grenoble Teaching Hospital.

Methods: This is a single-center observational retrospective study between 2004 and 2014. All children younger than 15 years and managed at the Grenoble teaching Hospital for a severe trauma kidney injury grade IV or V were included.

Introduction: GreenLight photoselective vaporisation of the prostate (PVP) offers an endoscopic alternative to open prostatectomy (OP) for treatment of large adenomas. This study compares long-term functional outcome of both techniques in patients with Benign prostatic obstruction (BPO)>80g.

Material And Method: Data from patients who underwent surgical treatment for BPO>80g from January 2010 to February 2015 at our institution were retrospectively collected and compared according to surgical technique.

Introduction: The purpose was to describe the management of intraparenchymal pseudoaneurysm (PA) after blunt renal trauma in our center, and to review the cases published in the literature, in order to propose a management algorithm.

Materials And Methods: We reviewed the files of 325 patients included in a prospective database, from July, 2004, to May, 2016. A systematic review of the published cases was done with the keywords "blunt renal trauma" and "pseudoaneurysm" in Pubmed (excluding arteriovenous fistulas, open renal traumas and extraparenchymal PA) allowing us to analyze 29 extra cases.

In 2015, Annecy Hospital was the first French hospital to perform non-heartbeating organ donation from a Maastricht category III donor (patient awaiting cardiac arrest after withdrawal of treatment). Non-heartbeating organ donation (NHBD), performed in France since 2006, had initially excluded this category, due to ethical questions concerning end of life and treatment withdrawal, as well as technical specificities linked to this procedure. Grenoble University Hospital and Edouard-Herriot Hospital in Lyon then performed the first kidney transplants, with satisfactory outcomes in both recipients.
