The Masculinizer (Masc) gene plays a crucial role in masculinization during insect embryonic gonadal development. Nevertheless, the Masc expression pattern and function in crabs remain largely unknown. In the present study, we screened and validated the Masc gene from transcriptome data of mud crab S.

As a crucial member of pattern-recognition receptors (PRRs), the Tolls/Toll-like receptors (TLRs) gene family has been proven to be involved in innate immunity in crustaceans. In this study, nine members of TLR gene family were identified from the mud crab (Scylla paramamosain) transcriptome, and the structure and phylogeny of different SpTLRs were analyzed. It was found that different SpTLRs possessed three conserved structures in the TIR domain.

Mud crab (Scylla paramamosain) has become an important mariculture crab along the southeast coast of China due to its strong adaptability, delicious taste, and rich nutrition. Several vertebrate steroid hormones and their synthesis-related genes and receptors have been found in crustaceans, but there are few reports on their synthesis process and mechanism. 3-beta-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase (HSD3B) is a member of the Short-chain Dehydrogenase/Reductase (SDR) family, and an indispensable protein in vertebrates' steroid hormone synthesis pathway.

Article Synopsis
  • * The nanoparticles are designed to deliver the chemotherapy drug doxorubicin (DOX) and NO donor L-arginine (L-Arg) while being tracked in real-time using advanced imaging techniques like magnetic resonance and photoacoustic imaging.
  • * The approach enhances vascular integrity, promotes the breakdown of collagen around tumors, and combines the effects of DOX and heat from manganese ferrite (MnFeO) to create a synergistic treatment for TNBC.

Solid-state electrolytes (SSEs) play a crucial role in developing lithium metal batteries (LMBs) with high safety and energy density. Exploring SSEs with excellent comprehensive performance is the key to achieving the practical application of LMBs. In this work, the great potential of Li Na FePO (LNFP) as an ideal SSE due to its enhanced ionic conductivity and reliable stability in contact with lithium metal anode is demonstrated.

The Dmrt (double-sex and mab-3 related transcription factor) gene family is considered to be a highly conserved gene family related to sex determination and sexual differentiation across species. In order to better understand the role of the idmrt-2 gene in gonad development in Scylla paramamosain, the idmrt-2 gene was cloned and analyzed. The cDNA contains a 1659 bp ORF region encoding 552 amino acids.
