Article Synopsis
  • The cervical microbiome (CM) is affected by gynecological cancers and undergoes changes after chemoradiation (CRT) therapy in cervical cancer patients.
  • A study analyzed cervical swabs from 16 cervical cancer patients and 30 healthy women, revealing significant differences in microbiome composition before and after treatment.
  • The findings indicate that the CM is more diverse in pre-treatment cancer patients compared to healthy controls, and major alterations occur post-CRT, suggesting potential avenues for future research on treatment options.
