We report the observation of new properties of primary cosmic rays He, C, and O measured in the rigidity (momentum/charge) range 2 GV to 3 TV with 90×10^{6} helium, 8.4×10^{6} carbon, and 7.0×10^{6} oxygen nuclei collected by the Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer (AMS) during the first five years of operation.

Seasonal regulation of condensed tannin consumption by free-ranging goats in a semi-arid savanna.

Although condensed tannins (CTs) are known to reduce forage intake by mammalian herbivores in controlled experiments, few studies have tested these effects in the field. Thus the role of CTs on foraging ecology of free-ranging herbivores is inadequately understood. To investigate the effects of CTs under natural savanna conditions, we pre-dosed groups of goats with polyethylene glycol (PEG, a CT-neutralising chemical), CT powder or water before observing their foraging behaviour.

The ecological interactions that occur in and with soil are of consequence in many ecosystems on the planet. These interactions provide numerous essential ecosystem services, and the sustainable management of soils has attracted increasing scientific and public attention. Although soil ecology emerged as an independent field of research many decades ago, and we have gained important insights into the functioning of soils, there still are fundamental aspects that need to be better understood to ensure that the ecosystem services that soils provide are not lost and that soils can be used in a sustainable way.

Development and validation of a stability-indicating HPLC-UV method for the determination of triamcinolone acetonide and its degradation products in an ointment formulation.

A stability indicating high performance liquid chromatography method has been developed for the determination of triamcinolone acetonide (TCA) and its main degradation products in ointment formulations. The method, based on extensive stress testing using metal salts, azobisisobutyronitrile, acid, base and peroxide, showed that TCA undergoes oxidative degradation. All degradation products were identified using HPLC mass spectrometry.

Neoplastic Lesions of Gastric Adenocarcinoma and Proximal Polyposis Syndrome (GAPPS) Are Gastric Phenotype.

Unlabelled: Neoplastic lesions of gastric adenocarcinoma and proximal polyposis of the stomach (GAPPS) are gastric phenotype. GAPPS was reported in 2011 as a new autosomal dominant gastric polyposis syndrome characterized by involvement of the gastric body/fundus with sparing of the antrum by multiple polyps, reported to be primarily fundic gland polyps (FGPs), with progression to dysplasia and adenocarcinoma of intestinal type. Our series consists of 51 endoscopic biopsies and 5 gastrectomy specimens from 25 patients belonging to a previously defined GAPPS family.

Measurement of the B^{±} Meson Nuclear Modification Factor in Pb-Pb Collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=5.02 TeV.

The differential production cross sections of B^{±} mesons are measured via the exclusive decay channels B^{±}→J/ψK^{±}→μ^{+}μ^{-}K^{±} as a function of transverse momentum in pp and Pb-Pb collisions at a center-of-mass energy sqrt[s_{NN}]=5.02  TeV per nucleon pair with the CMS detector at the LHC. The pp(Pb-Pb) data set used for this analysis corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 28.

Results are reported from a search for supersymmetric particles in proton-proton collisions in the final state with a single lepton, multiple jets, including at least one b-tagged jet, and large missing transverse momentum.
