Background: Non-invasive, continuous blood pressure monitoring technologies require additional validation beyond standard cuff-based methods. This study evaluates a non-invasive, multiparametric wearable cuffless blood pressure (BP) diagnostic monitor across all hypertension classes with diverse subjects.
Methods: A prospective, multicenter study assessed Nanowear's SimpleSense-BP performance, including induced and natural BP changes, significant BP variations (Systolic BP (SBP) ≥ ± 15 mm Hg and Diastolic BP (DBP) ≥ ± 10 mm Hg), and reference input value validity over 4 weeks.
Background: Left ventricular (LV) dilatation and extensive scar portend a poor prognosis in heart failure (HF). The Revivent TC system (BioVentrix Inc) is used either during a hybrid transcatheter-surgical or a surgical-only procedure to exclude transmural scar and reduce LV dimensions.
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to examine the safety and efficacy of the Revivent TC® anchor system in patients with HF.
Background: There is an unmet need for early detection of heart failure decompensation, allowing patients to be managed remotely and avoid hospitalization.
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to compare a strategy utilizing data from a wearable HF sensor for management following a HF hospitalization to usual care.
Methods: Eligible subjects were discharged from the hospital within the previous 10 days and had a HF event in the previous 6 months.
Aims: Interatrial shunts are under evaluation as a treatment for heart failure (HF); however, their in vivo flow performance has not been quantitatively studied. We aimed to investigate the fluid dynamics properties of the 0.51 cm orifice diameter Ventura shunt and assess its lumen integrity with serial transesophageal echocardiography (TEE).

However, challenges exist in identifying RV dysfunction using conventional echocardiography techniques. Strain echocardiography is an evolving imaging modality which measures myocardial deformation and can be used as an objective index of RV systolic function.

We assessed safety, effectiveness, and transthoracic echocardiographic (TTE) outcomes during the 12 months after Ventura shunt implantation in the RELIEVE-HF open-label roll-in cohort.
Methods And Results: Eligibility required symptomatic HF despite optimal GDMT with ≥1 HF hospitalization in the prior year or elevated natriuretic peptides.
Importance: The Best Pharmaceuticals for Children Act states that in issuing a written request (WR), the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) shall consider the adequate representation (eg, proportionate to the disease population) of children from racial and ethnic minority populations. If the terms of the WR are fulfilled, the FDA may grant an additional 6 months of exclusivity for any unexpired patents and exclusivities attached to approved indications.
Objective: To report on the race and ethnicity of participants enrolled in pediatric studies conducted in response to WRs for which pediatric exclusivity was granted between 2001 and 2021.
Functional capacity remains limited in heart failure patients with left ventricular assist devices (LVADs) due to fixed pump speed and inability to offload the left ventricle adequately. We hypothesized that manually adjusting LVAD speed during exercise based on pulmonary capillary wedge pressures would increase total cardiac output and maximal oxygen consumption. Two participants with a HeartWare LVAD underwent an invasive ramp study at rest followed by an invasive cardiopulmonary stress test exercising in two randomized phases: fixed speed and adjusted speed.

Aims: The HeartLogic multisensor index has been found to be a sensitive predictor of worsening heart failure (HF). However, there is limited data on this index's association and its constituent sensors with HF readmissions.
Methods And Results: The PREEMPT-HF study is a global, multicentre, prospective, observational, single-arm, post-market study.
Background: The pathophysiology of peripartum cardiomyopathy (PPCM) and its distinctive biological features remain incompletely understood. High-throughput serum proteomic profiling, a powerful tool to gain insights into the pathophysiology of diseases at a systems biology level, has never been used to investigate PPCM relative to nonischemic cardiomyopathy.
Objectives: The aim of this study was to characterize the pathophysiology of PPCM through serum proteomic analysis.
Early telemonitoring of weights and symptoms did not decrease heart failure hospitalizations but helped identify steps toward effective monitoring programs. A signal that is accurate and actionable with response kinetics for early re-assessment is required for the treatment of patients at high risk, while signal specifications differ for surveillance of low-risk patients. Tracking of congestion with cardiac filling pressures or lung water content has shown most impact to decrease hospitalizations, while multiparameter scores from implanted rhythm devices have identified patients at increased risk.

Regulatory requirements can mandate that trial sponsors enroll diverse study populations and ensure that regulatory revue prioritizes equity and inclusivity. A variety of projects directed at increasing accrual of underserved populations to oncology clinical trials emphasize best practices: broadened eligibility requirements for trials, simplification of trial procedures, community outreach through patient navigators, decentralization of clinical trial procedures and institution of telehealth, and funding to offset costs of travel and lodging.

The AccuCinch Transcatheter Left Ventricular Restoration system consists of a series of anchors connected by a cable implanted along the LV base that is cinched to the basal free wall radius. We evaluated the echocardiographic and clinical outcomes following transcatheter left ventricular restoration.

Based on various differences, the serovar Grippotyphosa has been divided into two types, Moskva V and Duyster. Differences or similarities of the two type strains in the context of leptospiral diagnostics have not yet been elucidated in more detail; therefore both strains were analysed in MAT diagnostics for the detection of leptospiral infections in pigs, dogs and horses.

The aim of this study was to identify patient characteristics that predict the effect, specifically, of CRT pacemakers (CRT-P) on all-cause mortality or the composite of hospitalization for heart failure or all-cause mortality.
Methods And Results: We conducted an individual patient data meta-analysis of the Comparison of Medical Therapy, Pacing, and Defibrillation in Heart Failure (COMPANION) and Cardiac Resynchronization-Heart Failure (CARE-HF) trials.
Background: Lung transplantation (LTx) is a lifesaving procedure burdened with limited long-term survival. The most common cause of death after LTx is chronic lung allograft dysfunction (CLAD). Today, useful biomarkers for the detection of CLAD are lacking.

We assessed the clinical integration and safety of the HeartLogic multisensor index and alerts in HF care.
Methods: The Multiple cArdiac seNsors for mAnaGEment of Heart Failure (MANAGE-HF) study enrolled 200 patients with HF and reduced ejection fraction (<35%), New York Heart Association functional class II-III symptoms, implanted with a cardiac resynchronization therapy-defibrillator or and implantable cardioverter defibrillator, who had either a hospitalization for HF within 12 months or unscheduled visit for HF exacerbation within 90 days or an elevated natriuretic peptide concentration (brain natriuretic peptide [BNP] of ≥150 pg/mL or N-terminal pro-BNP [NT-proBNP] of ≥600 pg/mL).
Objectives: This study sought to investigate the temporal association between changes in physiologic heart failure (HF) sensors, atrial fibrillation (AF) progression, and clinical HF in patients with cardiac resynchronization therapy implantable defibrillators (CRT-D) designed to monitor AF and HF daily.
Background: AF is a common comorbidity in HF; however, it is unclear if HF triggers AF, or vice-versa. Current implantable cardiac devices have sensors capable of quantifying HF status, which permits a greater understanding of the impact of AF on HF status and may help guide treatment.
