The genome of the osmophilic , unlike that of the osmotolerant , contains only the , but not the , glycerol 3-phosphate dehydrogenase gene. Here, we studied transcriptomic changes of (reference strain and Δ gene deletion mutant) and (reference strain and expressing mutant) elicited by high osmolarity. showed a canonic hyperosmotic stress response characterized by the upregulation of the trehalose and glycerol metabolism genes (including ), as well as the genes of the high-osmolarity glycerol (HOG) map kinase pathway.

Objective: The aim: To analyze the incidence of Hepatitis A in Ukraine and Poltava region and to study the clinical and epidemiological features of the course of Hepatitis A in adult patients.

Patients And Methods: Materials and methods: The course of HA in 96 hospitalized patients was analyzed. The diagnosis of HA was established on the basis of clinical and epide¬miological data and confirmed by the results of laboratory studies (serological and molecular biological).

At the Facility for Rare Isotope Beams (FRIB), an oven-ion source combination was used to create rare isotope beams in support of the stand-alone user beam program of the ReAccelerator (ReA) facility. This ion source, called Batch-Mode Ion Source (BMIS), was loaded with enriched stable nuclides (Si, Cr, and Fe) and long-lived radionuclides (Al, Si). The introduced samples, herein designated as source samples, were thermally volatilized in the BMIS oven, and then ionization was used to generate the required beams.

The quest to improve the quality of nuclear data, such as half-lives, transition yields, and reaction cross-sections, is a shared endeavor among various areas of nuclear science. V is a vanadium isotope for which experimental data on neutron reaction cross-sections is needed. However, traditional isotope production techniques cannot produce V with high enough isotopic purity for some of these measurements.

Industrial fungi need a strong environmental stress tolerance to ensure acceptable efficiency and yields. Previous studies shed light on the important role that Aspergillus nidulans gfdB, putatively encoding a NAD-dependent glycerol-3-phosphate dehydrogenase, plays in the oxidative and cell wall integrity stress tolerance of this filamentous fungus model organism. The insertion of A.

Objective: The aim: To explore the features of non-psychotic mental disorders in people with cosmetic defects and deformities of the external nose in order to optimize their treatment and rehabilitation measures.

Patients And Methods: Material and methods: The authors examined 99 persons who reffered to a plastic surgeon for cosmetic rhinoplasty. The first group (Group I) included 30 individuals; they did not have cosmetic defects of the nose; however, these individuals fixed unreasonably great attention on the nose and persistently demanded to change its shape.

Objective: The aim: Is to study the efficacy of influenza vaccination for individuals with polymorphism Arg753Gln of TLR-2 gene, Leu412Phe of TLR-3 gene, and Asp299Gly of TLR-4 gene.

Patients And Methods: Materials and methods: 66 people with mutant genotypes and normal distribution of alleles of TLR-2, TLR-3, TLR-4 genes, aged 18-63, were inoculated with anti-influenza vaccine. The genotyping of Arg753Gln polymorphic site of TLR-2, Asp299Gly of TLR-4, and Leu412Phe of TLR-3 gene was carried out by polymerase chain reaction with oligonucleotide primers usage.

Objective: The aim: To analyze the epidemiological data and clinical course of pneumonia as a complication of influenza in the Poltava region, depending on the etiological agent.

Patients And Methods: Materials and methods: We have analysed the data of the official reporting documentation provided by the State Institution "Poltava Regional Laboratory Center of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine" and the chart of patients with a laboratory confirmed diagnosis of influenza who were in inpatient treatment at the Poltava Regional Clinical Infectious Hospital (PRCIH) in 2016-2018 years. In more detail, we examined 95 patients with pneumonia, which complicated the course of the flu.

Objective: Introduction: Among the cases of biohelminthosis, which are registered in Ukraine, opisthorchiasis is the most common and constitutes the second largest centre in Europe. Due to the growth of migration processes and global tourism, opisthorchiasis is becoming increasingly relevant for the countries of the European Union and the United States. Under modern conditions, the clinical course of many infectious and parasitic diseases has changed.

As drug development is extremely expensive, the identification of novel indications for in-market drugs is financially attractive. Multiple algorithms are used to support such drug repurposing, but highly reliable methods combining simulation of intracellular networks and machine learning are currently not available. We developed an algorithm that simulates drug effects on the flow of information through protein-protein interaction networks, and used support vector machine to identify potentially effective drugs in our model disease, psoriasis.

We study the phase diagram of director structures in cholesteric liquid crystals of negative dielectric anisotropy in homeotropic cells of thickness d which is smaller than the cholesteric pitch p. The basic control parameters are the frustration ratio d/p and the applied voltage U. Upon increasing U, the direct transition from completely unwound homeotropic structure to the translationally invariant configuration (TIC) with uniform in-plane twist is observed at small d/p < or = 0.

Systemic necrotic angiites as well as Vegenera granulomatosis were shown according to literature data and the experience of the authors to be polysymptomatic. The fact makes diagnostics difficult. Multi-biopsies is recommended to conduct a histological verification of the disease.

For suspicion of pancreatic cancer 84 patients were subjected to ultrasonic examination, computerized tomography, x-ray of the stomach and duodenum and as indicated endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography and percutaneous transhepatic cholangiography combined with external cholangiostomy. The semeiotics of cancer of the pancreas was evaluated on the basis of radiation methods. Practical recommendations on the diagnosis and scope of surgical treatment as assessed preoperatively are given.

In 12 children with the different forms of anorectal atresia, for studying the state of a sphincter apparatus of the rectum and assessment of quality of its bringing down into the perineum after proctoplasty, computerized tomography of the organs of a small pelvis was used. Underdeveloped and undifferentiated musculus levator ani in children with high anorectal atresia and fistula to the urinary bladder was revealed. The method permits to establish exact location of the intestine brought down relative to musculus levator ani and external anal sphincter.

The examination and treatment of 22 children at the age of from 2 to 14 years after surgical correction of fistulous forms of atresia of the anus and rectum was carried out. In all the patients, besides of general clinical investigations, the special studies of the large intestine with the use of roentgenologic and functional methods were performed. A scale-table for assessment of a degree of anal incompetence have been developed, criteria for choice of rational tactics for rehabilitation of the patients established.

By "pathologic abrasion" is defined the excessive loss of the hard dental substance, which may lead to a total removal of the anatomic crown. This is one of most severe affections of ADM but also one of the best tolerated for a certain length of time. Four aspects of abrasion are frequently noted:--helicoidal abrasion--ad palatum abrasion;--horizontal abrasion;--keylock type abrasion.

[Correlation between occluding trauma and dental erosion].

Rev Chir Oncol Radiol O R L Oftalmol Stomatol Ser Stomatol

February 1990

The study presents data obtained by examination of a lot of patients with erosions of the teeth. At the same time histologic sections were prepared from teeth with cuneiform lesions that had to be removed as a result of parodonthopathic processes. Histological studies that have been carried out have demonstrated hyperemia of the dental pulp, and blood suffusion, sometimes accompanied by oedema.
