The article discusses the effectiveness of the technique of immune-enzyme detection of anti-botulin antibodies type A in human blood serum. The presence of antibodies is registered in blood serum after second and subsequent immunization with botulin trianatoxin (titer from 1:400 to 1:3200). The establishment of relationship between the registered titers of anti-botulin antibodies and the activity of serum during protection of white mice from toxin revealed the correlation coefficient between these values as 0.

The study included 36 patents (primary tumor--27, recurrent orbital lymphoma--9) with diagnosed non-Hodgkin's orbital or conjuctival lymphoma treated at the Center's Clinic (1999-2007). All patients received an average multifractionated dose of 34.5 Gy from the S1-75-5 linear electron accelerators (Philips) generating 6 MeV of braking radiation.

There is a considerable variation in individual lifespan among cancer patients with identical diagnosis. We used damped exponential approximation, which includes both single- and double-compartment extension, for radiobiological assessment of survival curves among cases of breast, lung and oro-pharyngeal cancer. It was shown that in certain cases (breast--T2N1-2M0T3N1-2M0 and oro-pharyngeal cancer--T2-4N1-3M0) the curves can be identified with the two compartments which in turn are associated with different rates of mortality.

The study was undertaken to examine the effects of furosemide and ethacrynic acid on the fluorescence of 1,8-AHC in the suspension of erythrocytic membranes and lumenal and basolateral membranes of the rat renal epithelium. Ethacrynic acid was demonstrated to decrease probe luminescence in all three types of biological membranes. Furosemide failed to affect 1,8-AHC fluorescence in the suspension of blood ghosts and basolateral membranes of the renal epithelium and enhances probe fluorescence in the suspension of luminal membranes.

"An attempt is made to isolate the ecological factor (as measured by an air quality index) among the causes of population change in SMSA's in the United States. Eight types of SMSA's are distinguished in terms of various combinations of a selected set of parameters. Growth is found to have been negligible in SMSA's with an unsatisfactory air quality index.
