A simple method for the direct transformation of Sr-exchanged titanosilicate with the sitinakite structure (IONSIV) into ceramic material through cold pressing and subsequent sintering at 1100 °C for 4 h is presented. The temperature transformation of Sr-exchanged sitinakite showed the stages of recrystallization of the material with the formation of Sr-Ti phases matsubaraite (SrTi[SiO]O), jeppeite (SrTiO), tausonite (SrTiO), and rutile. Leaching experiments showed the efficiency of fixation of Sr cations in a ceramic matrix; extraction into water does not exceed 0.

A series of novel KSrYEr(BO) (x = 0-1) phosphors that emit near-infrared radiation was synthesized using solid-state methods. Pure Y and Er crystals were grown using a KF flux via the top-seeded solution growth technique. In situ high-temperature single crystal X-ray diffraction, Raman spectroscopy and DFT calculations were used for characterization.

Flexible crystal() structures, which exhibit() single-crystal()-to-single-crystal() (SCSC) transformations(), are attracting attention() in many applied aspects: magnetic() switches, catalysis, ferroelectrics and sorption. Acid treatment() for titanosilicate material() AM-4 and natural() compounds with the same structures led to SCSC transformation() by loss() Na, Li and Zn cations with large structural() changes (20% of the unit()-cell() volume()). The conservation() of crystallinity through complex() transformation() is possible due() to the formation() of a strong hydrogen bonding() system().

Numerous studies expose the potential of brannerite to become a good matrix, concentrating fission products and actinides. Minerals can complement the data collected from the synthetic materials and offer an advantage of a long-time exposure to radiation. Natural metamict brannerite from Akchatau, Kazakhstan, and its annealed sample were studied by EPMA, Raman spectroscopy, TGA, DSC, XRD and HTXRD.

Background: Relatives of patients withaddictive disorders often face significant difficulties in their daily lives. Although the burnout concept is currently considered a significant and promising theoretical framework for studying family members who care for chronically ill patients, its application has encountered considerable difficulties in the area of addiction treatment.

Objective: This article explores the methodology for studying the psychological issues arising in families affected by addictive disorders.

The design of transparent optical materials with stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) suppression is a topic of current interest. We measured two-photon absorption (2PA) cross-section σ and Brillouin gain factor g of a suspension of hexagonal boron nitride (hBN) in N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone at the second harmonic of a Nd:YAG laser. SBS exhibits a significant quenching with hBN concentration, like previously observed in graphene suspension.

We explored the Stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) behavior of a transparent liquid containing a low concentration of strongly absorbing nanoparticles. We measured SBS energies in N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone (NMP) and water at 532 nm-wavelength. The previously unknown NMP Brillouin gain factor is g = 18.

It has been found that there are both biologically rigid and biologically soft homologues in the homologous series of linear alkylbenzene sulfonates (LABS). It is shown that absorption of LABS molecules from aqueous to activated sludge phase may serve as a determinant that should be used to refer a homologue to as rigid or soft surfactants. The biodegradability, detergency, and toxicity of LABS were ascertained to be related to the size of molecular alkyl molecular substitute.

It was for the first time in the ophthalmologic practice that a possibility was demonstrated to ensure relatively high and stable functional results, in a significant number of patients with transplanted kidney (TK), related with different-type cataract extraction and with implantation of a variety of PMMA IOLs, i.e. model of B.

Due to the specificity of complications and to peculiarities of the surgical approach the principles of cataract surgery have been changing, when combined with transciliary vitrectomy. The postoperative complications in surgery for proliferative diabetic retinopathy (PDR) are often related with development of proliferative processes in the anterior eye segment. Therefore, a scope and a type of surgical manipulations in the anterior segment affect, to a great extent, the stability of the obtained result.

Lavages of the lacrimal fluid were examined, before operation and immediately after operation, in 47 patients with diabetes mellitus and with pseudophakia in order to define the possibilities of the method of laser-correlation spectroscopy (LCS) in evaluating the semiotic nature and a severity degree of postoperative inflammation. It was found that, when the subjective symptomatology of inflammation in the LCS spectrums intensified, there was a higher contribution to the light dissemination of particles with a hydrodynamic diameter of 600 nm and more (i.e.

Formula for estimating the optic force of intraocular lenses made from elastic materials has been tried in 106 patients. The formula takes account of forward deflection of the elastic intraocular lens in the posterior chamber of the eye. The proposed method for estimation more than threefold decreases the mean error in estimation of optic force of elastic intraocular lenses in comparison with calculations with the use of known formulas.

Potentialities of lymphotropic method of drug administration for arresting inflammation after intraocular cataract correction were studied in 60 patients aged 48-63 years. Extracapsular cataract extraction with implantation of posterior-chamber Alexeev's intraocular lens (IOL) was carried out in all of them. Patients with complications of surgery and a history of inflammations in the operated eye were not included in the study.

The level of glycosylated blood hemoglobin (HbA1c) as a clinical and prognostic criterion for selecting diabetics for implantation of intraocular lens (IOL) is assessed. Extracapsular cataract extraction with intraocular correction was carried out in 68 patients with noninsulin-dependent diabetes mellitus. Preoperative level of HbA1c in group 1 (n = 36) was no more than 8%, and in group 2 (n = 32) it was at least 8%.

Inorganic phosphorus and the associated potassium, magnesium, and sodium ion levels were measured in the serum and daily urine in the perioperative period in 210 patients of both sexes aged 31-84 years subjected to planned and urgent surgery on the abdominal organs. Control group consisted of 14 patients subjected to planned operations for inguinal hernias. Intraoperative hypophosphatemia was observed in all patients at the beginning, during, and immediately after the operation.
