Objective The purpose of this study was to characterize similarities and differences in HPV vaccine misinformation narratives present in the comment sections of top-performing initial creator posts across three social media platforms. Methods A qualitative multi-method design was used to analyze comments collected from social media posts. A sample of 2996 comments were used for thematic analysis (identifying similar themes) and content analysis (identifying differences in comment type, opinion, and misinformation status).

COVID-19 and the response to slow the virus spread in West Virginia (WV), including a statewide stay-at-home order, presented challenges to rural primary care clinics on the frontlines. The purpose of this study is to assess the use of cross-sectional imaging to qualitatively and quantitatively categorize trochlear dysplasia as low grade (type A) or high grade (types B-D) according to the Dejour classification. A retrospective review of CT and MRI knee examinations performed before patients underwent deepening trochleoplasty was independently conducted by two musculoskeletal radiologists. Each case of trochlear dysplasia was qualitatively assigned a Dejour type.

CT, MRI and PET imaging was performed and was concerning for a soft tissue abscess likely originating in the lumbar spine. Background: Many hospitals use a traditional categoric system (eg, STAT, ASAP [as soon as possible], routine) to prioritize orders for imaging examination performance. If left undefined, these categories contain ambiguity, which contributes to errant or misused categorizations, and ultimately, lost opportunity to optimally direct resources toward timely patient care. Because of their central role in programmed cell death, the caspases are attractive targets for developing new therapeutics against cancer and autoimmunity, myocardial infarction and ischemic damage, and neurodegenerative diseases. Limited contemporary data exist on the cardiovascular risk of patients with prior coronary artery bypass grafting surgery (CABG) requiring diagnostic coronary angiography. We examined the prevalence and control of coronary artery disease risk factors and the outcomes of 367 prior CABG patients who underwent diagnostic coronary angiography between October 1, 2004 and May 31, 2007 at the Dallas Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Background: Most data suggesting that noncardiac surgery early after coronary artery bypass surgery carries low risk are derived from post hoc analyses of randomized controlled trials, with only limited data derived from contemporary, nonselected, and nontrial patients.

Methods: We retrospectively reviewed the medical records of patients who underwent coronary artery bypass surgery at our institution between January 1999 and October 2006 to determine whether they subsequently had major noncardiac surgery and what the outcomes of the noncardiac surgery were.

Results: During the study period, 1065 patients underwent coronary artery bypass surgery, and 272 (26%) subsequently underwent 467 major noncardiac surgeries.

Purpose: To evaluate cortical auditory function, including speech recognition, in children with benign rolandic epilepsy (BRE).

Methods: Fourteen children, seven patients with BRE and seven matched controls, underwent audiometric and behavioral testing, simultaneous EEG recordings, and auditory-evoked potential recordings with speech and tones. Speech recognition was tested under multiple listening conditions.

Benign rolandic epilepsy (BRE) and Landau-Kleffner syndrome (LKS) are similar epilepsy syndromes with sleep-accentuated epileptiform activity, sporadic seizures, and language dysfunction. Levetiracetam has been associated with improved language function in LKS and seizure reduction in BRE. We hypothesized levetiracetam would improve language function in children with BRE.
