Background: The effects of electrical stimulation on gastrointestinal function recovery after gynecological abdominal surgery was not clear.

Aim: To systematically evaluate the effects of electrical stimulation on gastrointestinal function recovery after gynecological abdominal surgery.

Methods: The Cochrane Library, Web of Science, PubMed, ProQuest, and the Chinese biomedical literature databases Wanfang, Weipu, and CNKI were used to search for relevant studies on controlled trials of electrical stimulation in gynecological abdominal surgery patients from self-established databases to May 2024.
