Unlabelled: The Antia-Buch flap is a popular reconstructive method for full-thickness ear defects involving the helical rim. However, scaphal or conchal resection is often required to prevent ear distortion. Noel et al described a modified technique to the Antia-Buch flap, which includes an incision in the temporal scalp and complete detachment of the preauricular helical root to increase mobility of the flap.

Clinical Impact of Cryopreservation on Split Thickness Skin Grafts in the Porcine Model.

Vital, genetically engineered, porcine xenografts represent a promising alternative to human cadaveric allografts (HCA) in the treatment of severe burns. However, their clinical value would be significantly enhanced if preservation and long-term storage-without the loss of cellular viability-were feasible. The objective of this study was to examine the direct impact of cryopreservation and the length of storage on critical in vivo and in vitro parameters, necessary for a successful, potentially equivalent substitute to HCA.

Three-dimensional imaging with computer simulation is an evolving technology with the potential to enhance the preoperative consultation for patients considering primary breast augmentation. The purpose of this study was to prospectively evaluate the impact of three-dimensional imaging with computer simulation on patient-reported and objective, mammometric outcomes in women undergoing primary breast augmentation.

Fat Grafting with Tissue Liquefaction Technology as an Adjunct to Breast Reconstruction.

Background: Tissue liquefaction technology (TLT) delivers warmed saline from the liposuction cannula tip at low pressure pulses to disaggregate adipocytes. This technology differs significantly from that used in other liposuction devices including water jet-assisted liposuction. Here we introduce our early experience with this technology in the setting of fat transfer for revision breast reconstruction.
