A Gram-stain-negative, aerobic, rod-shaped and motile strain HL-JVS1, was isolated from the gastric tract of a juvenile Pacific white shrimp. Molecular phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene sequences of strain HL-JVS1 revealed its affiliation with the genus Pleionea, with close relatives including Pleionea mediterranea MOLA115 (97.5%) and Pleionea sediminis S1-5-21 (96.

Manufacturing CAR-T and TCR-T cells involves transduction with viral vectors commonly containing the WPRE gene sequence to enhance gene expression, providing a viable assay target unique to these engineered cells. Quantitative PCR (qPCR) is currently used clinically in fresh patient tissue samples and blood with target sequences specific to each immunotherapy product.

Thus, we investigated the weekend effect on 30-day mortality in patients with ischemic or hemorrhagic stroke considering the confounding effect of stroke severity and staffing level.
Methods: We retrospectively analyzed data of patients hospitalized for ischemic or hemorrhagic stroke between January 1, 2015, and December 31, 2018, which were extracted from the claims database of the National Health Insurance System and the Medical Resource Report by the Health Insurance Review & Assessment Service.
In the present study, various outcomes over 3-year period in patients with early stage psychosis including remission, recovery, relapse and medication adherence were investigated. Predictor for full recovery at year 3 was also examined. Three-year follow-up data in 534 patients with schizophrenia spectrum disorders (SSD) and psychotic disorder not otherwise specified (PNOS) were examined for overall outcome trajectories.

When HyA of the desired molecular weight is implanted into the human body for regeneration of damaged tissue, it is degraded by hyaluronidase in associated with an inflammatory response. This study sought to evaluate the effects of HyA molecular weight and concentration on pro- and anti-inflammatory responses in murine macrophages.

The current study performed a systematic delineation of the rice metabolome, an important staple in Asia, to investigate the following: (1) comparative features between brown and white rice; (2) variety-specific composition (Ilpum vs. Odae); and (3) cultivation of region-dependent metabolic content.

Alternatively, metabolic signature, a determinant for nutritional value, can be the good molecular indicator, which reflects cultivation region-dependent factors such as climate and soil. Accordingly, we analyzed the integrative metabolic profiles of Korean soybeans cultivated in 7 different provinces (representative production areas), and explored the potential association with geographic traits.

During folliculogenesis, oocytes are bathed in follicular fluid (FF), which provides an important and specialized microenvironment for oocyte competence. Follistatin (FST) is one component of FF that may play a role in oocyte maturation and embryo development.

However, a computational framework that enables the direct design of these nanocomposite thin films is still lacking. The objective of this study is to derive an experimentally validated and two-dimensional numerical model of carbon nanotube-based thin film strain sensors.

Plant-derived compounds have played an important role in the development of useful anti-cancer agents. The current study was designed to evaluate the cytotoxic activity of chemical compounds from the stem bark of Styrax obassia.

The principle of the SCNT involves the reprogramming a somatic nucleus by injecting a somatic cell into a recipient oocyte whose nucleus has been removed. Therefore, the nucleus donor cells are considered as a crucial factor in SCNT.

Methods: Porcine immature oocytes (total 770) were cultured in IVM medium with acteoside at various concentrations, 0 (control), 10, 30, and 50 μM. Each group was assessed for maturation and subsequent development rates, reactive oxygen species (ROS) level (15 oocytes per group and four independent experiments performed), ultrastructure observation (15 oocytes per group), mitochondrial activity (30 oocytes per groups and three independent experiments performed), and expression patterns of apoptosis-related genes (100 expended parthenogenetic embryos per group and three independent experiment performed).

A series of polyimides were synthesized by a polycondensation reaction using various aromatic dianhydrides and diamines containing bulky cardo and hydroxyl groups. The imidization and chemical structure of the polyimides were confirmed by NMR and FT-IR. The thermal and gas properties of the polyimides were measured by time-lag, XRD, TGA, and DSC studies.

Previous studies have focused on the cellular and molecular perspectives of UVB-induced keratinocyte damage. In the present study, it was demonstrated that pretreatment with the phytochemical arctiin, one of the lignin compounds, protects human HaCaT keratinocytes from UVB-mediated damage.

Materials And Methods: From May 2008 to May 2011, 30 cases in 27 patients with spinal metastasis received single fraction SRS to targets neighboring esophagus.
A transparent electrorheological (ER) fluid was fabricated by dispersing urea-modified silica nanoparticles in a mixture of halocarbon oil and silicone oil, whose refractive index could be tuned to be the same as that of the dispersed particles. The ER fluid showed considerable enhancement in shear stress and shear viscosity, as determined by a rotational rheometer, as well as improved dielectric spectra measured using a LCR meter. Morphological and thermal characterization by scanning electron microscopy and thermal gravimetric analysis confirmed the modification by urea.

Tacrolimus biosynthetic machinery should incorporate the shikimate-derived 4,5-dihydroxycyclohex-1-enecarboxylic acid (DHCHC) as a biosynthetic starter unit into the biosynthetic line of tacrolimus. fkbO is a homologue of rapK encoding chorismatase related to the biosynthesis of starter unit DHCHC from chorismate in the rapamycin biosynthetic gene cluster.
