Purpose Of Review: We aimed to summarize the current evidence regarding the association between breast arterial calcification (BAC) and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) in women and discuss the potential role of BAC in the risk stratification and preventive approaches for ASCVD.

Recent Findings: BAC has emerged as a potential women-specific risk marker for ASCVD. Although BAC presents as a medial calcification of the arteries, notably different from the intimal atherosclerotic process, current evidence supports a correlation between BAC and ASCVD risk factors or subclinical and clinical ASCVD, such as coronary artery disease or stroke.
