Intensively studied polymeric particle production technologies often rely on the combination of polymer self-assembly and particle processing techniques. Herein, an elegant crystallization transition-mediated strategy is proposed to confine molecular self-assembly within a limited range, avoiding the need for extra particle processing steps. This approach enables the production of the regenerated nanofibrous chitin clusters woven with the helical nanofibers.

Therefore, it is of great clinical and public health significance to find a specific target for early diagnosis and prediction of the prognosis of TBM. From January 2021 to February 2024, 110 TBM patients and 122 patients with non-tumor, non-infectious headaches were admitted to Hunan Chest Hospital.

The present study aims to investigate the relationship between hemodynamics assessed by FAI combined with CT-FFR and plaque characteristics in functionally significant coronary artery stenosis.
Methods: This retrospective study included 130 patients with suspected coronary heart disease, who were admitted to the Department of Cardiology of our hospital and underwent coronary computed tomography angiography (CCTA) from January 2022 to December 2023.
SPT5 exhibits versatile functions in RNA Pol II promoter proximal pausing, pause release, and elongation in metazoans. However, the mechanism underlying the functional switch of SPT5 during early elongation has not been fully understood. Here, we report that the phosphorylation site-rich domain (PRD)/CTR1 and the prion-like domain (PLD)/CTR2, which are situated adjacent to each other within the C-terminal repeat (CTR) in SPT5, play pivotal roles in Pol II pausing and elongation, respectively.

In a common symptom of chronic pain called allodynia, non-painful stimuli produce painful responses with highly variable presentations across individuals. While the specific mechanisms remain unclear, allodynia is hypothesized to be caused by the dysregulation of excitatory-inhibitory (E-I) balance in pain-processing neural circuitry in the dorsal horn of the spinal cord.

Representation of the whole plant by measuring the photosynthetic performance at a single site may lead to biased results. In this study, we comprehensively analyzed the main photosynthetic organs of four high-yielding rapeseed varieties at the seedling, bud, flowering, and podding stages.

This study aimed to establish a randomized controlled clinical trial to evaluate the efficacy and safety of SAOS for children with allergic rhinitis (AR) and adenoid hypertrophy (AH).
Methods: Children with AR and AH who visited the Otolaryngology Department of the Children's Hospital Affiliated with Fudan University between June 2022 and April 2023 were included.

Periodontal defects caused by severe periodontitis are a widespread issue globally. Guided tissue regeneration (GTR) using barrier membranes for alveolar bone repair is a common clinical treatment. However, most commercially available collagen barrier membranes are expensive and lack the antibacterial properties essential for effective bone regeneration.

Motivation: Molecular representation learning is pivotal for advancing deep learning applications in quantum chemistry and drug discovery. Existing methods for molecular representation learning often fall short of fully capturing the intricate interactions within chemical bonds of 2D topological graphs and the multifaceted effects of 3D geometric conformations.
Results: To overcome these challenges, we present a novel contrastive learning strategy for molecular representation learning, named Geometric Triangle Awareness Model (GTAM).
Purpose: To study the analgesic effects and side effects of a transdermal lappaconitine (TLA) patch, ibuprofen suspension (IS), and TLA combined with IS (TLACIS) after adenoidectomy and tonsillectomy.
Design: Prospective, randomized clinical trial.
Methods: The patients were randomized into three groups defined by different analgesic drug regimens: the TLA group, the IS group, and the TLACIS group.
Injectable hydrogels fabricated from natural polymers have attracted increasing attentions for their potential in biomedical application owing to the biocompatibility and biodegradability. A new class of natural polymer based self-healing hydrogel is constructed through dynamic covalent bonds. The injectable self-healing hydrogels are fabricated by introducing alginate aldehyde to form Schiff base bonds with the chitin nanofibers.

Clathrates are potential "phonon-glass, electron-crystal" thermoelectric semiconductors, whose structure of polyhedron stacks is very attractive. However, their mechanical properties have not yet met the requirements of industrial applications. Here, we report the ideal strength of element-substituted type-I and type-VIII clathrates and the shear deformation mechanism by using density functional theory.

Herein, we proposed a strategy for preparing all-chitin-based inks for wound dressing via direct ink writing technique. The β-chitin nanofibers (MACNF) with a high aspect ratio were applied as a nanofiller to modulate the rheological properties of the alkaline dissolved chitin solution.

It is still challenging to achieve simultaneous improvement for these two usual trade-off features. Here, we demonstrate a full noncovalent mediated self-assembly design for simultaneously improving the chitinous bioplastic processing and mechanical properties via plane hot-pressing.

While thermosensors detecting cool, warm and hot temperatures have all been extensively characterized, little is known about those sensing cold temperatures. Though several candidate cold sensors have been proposed, none has been demonstrated to mediate cold sensing in somatosensory neurons in vivo, leaving a knowledge gap in thermosensation.

Herein, a Janus membrane called SrJM is developed that consists of a porous collagen face to enhance osteogenic function and a dense face to maintain barrier function. Specifically, biomimetic intrafibrillar mineralization of collagen with strontium apatite is realized by liquid precursors of amorphous strontium phosphate.
