We find here that CIROZ (previously known as C1orf127) is also specifically expressed in the LRO of mice, frogs, and fish, where it encodes a protein with a signal peptide followed by 3 zona pellucida N domains, consistent with extracellular localization. We report 16 individuals from 10 families with bi-allelic CIROZ inactivation variants, which cause heterotaxy with congenital heart defects.

The system is simplified compared to many natural settings, and to some extent the entire environment can be manipulated, from architectural design to materials use, air flow, human traffic, and capacity to disrupt microbial communities through cleaning. Motivation: High confidence structure prediction models have become available for nearly all protein sequences. More than 200 million AlphaFold2 models are now publicly available. We observe that there can be significant variability in the prediction confidence as judged by plDDT scores across a protein family.

This study sought to describe current practices surrounding identification and treatment of iron deficiency in CKD and then implement a pharmacist-led protocol to optimize care at a tertiary medical center. This single center, retrospective, pre- and post-protocol implementation study of adults with CKD admitted to the inpatient setting first analyzed historic practices for iron deficiency screening and treatment, followed by deployment of a pharmacist-driven protocol for iron deficiency screening and treatment.

Methods: This study was a retrospective, cross-sectional analysis of patients in a large rheumatology division who had office visits and completed questionnaires from May 2022 to January 2023.
Background: The purpose of this phase 1 trial was to evaluate the safety and toxicity of repeated normothermic intraperitoneal paclitaxel (PTX) for patients with gastric cancer metastatic to the peritoneum.
Methods: A Bayesian optimal interval design was used to prospectively identify the safety and tolerability of escalating doses of intraperitoneal paclitaxel at weekly treatments for 3 weeks, followed by a 1-week break, and then three additional treatments. The primary objective was to define the maximum tolerated dose.
The highly blistering sulfur mustard analogue agent T (bis(2-chloroethylthioethyl) ether), also known as O-mustard or oxy-mustard, is a common impurity in military grade sulfur mustard (SM) and a component of mixtures such as "HT" that are still found in old munitions. Together with sesquimustard (Q), it is the most important SM analogue and tightly regulated as a Schedule 1 chemical under the Chemical Weapons Convention.
