Cellular signaling networks are modulated by multiple protein-protein interaction domains that coordinate extracellular inputs and processes to regulate cellular processes. Several of these domains recognize short linear motifs, or SLiMs, which are often highly conserved and are closely regulated. Introduction: A cross-sectional study retrospectively evaluating the perceived usefulness of attending a multi-disciplinary, roundtable, educational prenatal clinic for mothers expecting children with myelomeningocele is presented.

Methods: Mothers who currently have children with SB completed a survey which evaluated their overall preparedness, spina bifida education, delivery plans, surgical expectations, and expectations in terms of quality of life and development. Open comments were also collected.

Endoscopic third ventriculostomy (ETV) is a well-established surgical technique for treating hydrocephalus. Since 2018, a neurosurgery delegation has been actively engaged and consistently present at the World Health Assembly. Recognizing the growing impact of neurosurgical diseases, the neurosurgery delegation participated in the 76th World Health Assembly in May 2023, advocating for timely, safe, and affordable global neurosurgical care. The delegation focused on forging new collaborations, strengthening the World Health Organization-World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies official relations, and actively supporting resolutions that impact the neurosurgical patients.

Sortase enzymes are cysteine transpeptidases that attach environmental sensors, toxins, and other proteins to the cell surface in Gram-positive bacteria. The recognition motif for many sortases is the cell wall sorting signal (CWSS), LPXTG, where X = any amino acid. Purpose: This study aimed to analyze organ system-based causes and non-organ system-based mechanisms of death (COD, MOD) in people with myelomeningocele (MMC), comparing urological to other COD.

Methods: A retrospective review was performed of 16 institutions in Canada/United States of non-random convenience sample of people with MMC (born > = 1972) using non-parametric statistics.

Results: Of 293 deaths (89% shunted hydrocephalus), 12% occurred in infancy, 35% in childhood, and 53% in adulthood (documented COD: 74%).
