Introduction: The COVID-19 pandemic and associated restrictive measures have caused important disruptions in economies and labour markets, changed the way we work and socialise, forced schools to close and healthcare and social services to reorganise. This unprecedented crisis forces individuals to make considerable efforts to adapt and will have psychological and social consequences, mainly on vulnerable individuals, that will remain once the pandemic is contained and will most likely exacerbate existing social and gender health inequalities. This crisis also puts a toll on the capacity of our healthcare and social services structures to provide timely and adequate care.

Of these, less than 2% display ophthalmic relapses, which owing to their scarcity, are largely undocumented, leaving clinicians with few diagnostic and therapeutic recommendations, despite serious functional sequelae. We conducted a French multicenter retrospective study to collect all clinical, radiological, biological, and therapeutic data, and outcomes for children with ALL ophthalmic relapses.

Until now, none of the proposed CDRs has performed well enough in high-income countries for use in clinical practice. Our study aimed to build and validate a new CDR (DISCERN-FN) to predict the risk of severe infection in children with febrile neutropenia.

Methods: A sequential quantitative-qualitative mixed approach associates 16 individual interviews and responses to a self-questionnaire of 254 young cancer survivors (sex-ratio=1, median age 23.
Objective: To obtain a national overview of the epidemiology and management of invasive fungal infections (IFIs) in France for severely immunocompromised children who were treated for acute leukemia or had undergone allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (a-HSCT).
Study Design: We performed a national multicenter retrospective study to collect epidemiologic data for proven and probable IFIs in children with acute leukemia under first- line or relapse treatment or who had undergone a-HSCT. We also conducted a prospective practice survey to provide a national overview of IFI management in pediatric hematology units.
Pediatric-onset Evans syndrome (pES) is defined by both immune thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP) and autoimmune hemolytic anemia (AIHA) before the age of 18 years. There have been no comprehensive long-term studies of this rare disease, which can be associated to various immunopathological manifestations (IM). We report outcomes of the 151 patients with pES and more than 5 years of follow-up from the nationwide French prospective OBS'CEREVANCE cohort.

In most cases, the underlying cause is unknown. We sought to identify genetic defects in pediatric ES (pES), based on a hypothesis of strong genetic determinism.

The MDH-03 guidelines were established in order to decrease the burden of treatment in good-responder patients, and this report should be considered a step toward further optimization of treatment within large collaborative trials. We report the therapy and long-term outcomes of 417 children and adolescents treated according to the national guidelines, which were applied between 2003 and 2007 in France.

Materials And Methods: A total of 53 patients (26 girls, 27 boys) with a total of 53 tumors who had CT examination of the abdomen and pelvis for the initial assessment of retroperitoneal tumor were retrospectively included. All CT examinations were obtained with an unenhanced set of CT images and a set of CT images obtained after intravenous administration of iodinated contrast material.

Introduction: As the health consequences of climate change (CC) will likely become more manifest in the future, family physicians have to be knowledgeable about these impacts and the ways in which they can affect their patients. The main aim of this study was to propose a competency framework and questionnaire used to conduct a needs analysis to identify and prioritize family physicians' real educational needs regarding the health impacts of CC.
Methods: A mixed method combining a qualitative interview and a quantitative online questionnaire was used (n = 24 physicians).
Relapses of acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) early after hematopoietic stem cell transplantations in children are uncommon but associated with a very poor prognosis. Whereas there are no current recommendations for the management of these relapses, the children's quality of life is an important issue. We studied the outcomes, including 1-year overall survival, complete remission, and quality of life, of 19 children with ALL who relapsed within the first year after their transplantation treated in the 5 participating centers between 2000 and 2011 Patients were distributed as follows: supportive care only (group A), outpatient treatment (mainly steroid and vincristine, group B), or intensive inpatient treatment (group C).

Facing a tremendous expansion of neurostimulation techniques and available devices, implanters and patients can still remain confused as they need to select the right tool for the right indication. To be able to evaluate and compare objectively patient outcomes, depending on therapeutical strategies, it appears essential to develop a rational and quantitative approach to pain assessment for those who undergo neurostimulation implantation.

Materials And Methods: This was a retrospective and descriptive study that included 57 children (13 with neonatal neuroblastoma, 18 with renal tumours, and 26 with lymphoma) over a 5-year period, with the length of monitoring ranging from 1 to 7 years. All CT scans and nuclear medicine examinations were counted, and the effective doses calculated.
Aim: This phase II study evaluated efficacy, safety and pharmacokinetics (PK) profile of combination intravenous vinorelbine (VNL) and continuous low doses oral cyclophosphamide (CPM) combination in children and young adults with a recurrent or refractory solid tumour.
Methods: A total of 117 patients (median age, 12 years) within six disease strata received intravenous VNL 25mg/m(2) on days 1, 8 and 15 of each 28-day cycle combined with continuous daily oral CPM 25mg/m(2). Tumour response was assessed every two cycles according to WHO (World Health Organisation) criteria.
Objectives: Chronic disseminated candidiasis (CDC) is a disseminated fungal infection that is frequently seen in patients undergoing intensive treatment of haematological malignancies. The first signs of CDC appear during neutrophil recovery. Clinical and physiopathological characteristics of CDC suggest it belongs to the spectrum of fungus-related immune reconstitution inflammatory syndrome (IRIS).

Juvenile xanthogranuloma was diagnosed in two infants aged 8 and 2 months with skin lesions, hepatosplenomegaly, and pancytopenia. Disease control was not achieved with first-line vinblastine-steroid-VP16 combination therapy. Two courses of 2-chlorodeoxyadenosine (2CDA) (0.
