Hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) is a standard method for treating a number of pathologies, primarily blood diseases. Timely restoration of the immune system after HSCT is a critical factor associated with the development of complications such as relapses or secondary tumors and various infections, as well as the graft-versus-host reaction in allogeneic transplantation, which ultimately affects the survival of patients. Introduction into the recipient's body of immune system cells that are incapable of sensitization by recipient antigens during the period of immune reconstitution can increase the rate of restoration of the immune system, as well as reduce the risk of complications.

The objective of this work was to study the expression of the TBX21, RORC, GATA3, NFKB1, MAPK8, and STAT3 genes responsible for the regulation of the differentiation of various T-helper subpopulations in individuals chronically exposed to radiation. The object of the study was peripheral blood cells obtained from 120 persons chronically exposed to radiation in a wide range of doses on the Techa River. The mean cumulative absorbed dose to red bone marrow in the examined exposed individuals was 742.

Epilepsy is one of the most frequently diagnosed neurological diseases, but the neurobiological basis of the disease remains poorly understood. Immunophenotyping CBA mice brain (NeuN and caspase-8) in parallel with hippocampal neurons' functional status and survival rate assessment during acute epileptic PTZ-induced seizures is of particular interest. The aims of this study were to investigate the involvement of NeuN and caspase-8 in cell cycle regulation and the death of hippocampal neurons during PTZ-induced seizures in mice and to assess the therapeutic efficacy of Myricetin in the aforementioned experimental settings.

Malignant effusion complicates more than 15% of all cancers in delayed stages of progression. The most common causes of metastatic pleuritis are lung cancer, breast cancer, ovarian cancer, lymphoproliferative diseases or dissemination of gastrointestinal tumors. Malignant effusion is associated with negative prognosis for overall survival regardless of etiology of tumor, significantly complicates the course of the underlying disease, impairs life quality and complicates treatment.

Our study aimed to clarify the anatomical features of the zygomatic, upper masseteric, lower masseteric and mandibular ligaments and their possible contribution to age-related gravitational ptosis. The study was carried out by the method of layered dissection of fresh cadavers. In several observations, the zygomatic ligament is represented by the fibers originating from the zygomaticus major muscle fibers.

The use of chitosan-based gels is still limited due to their restricted solubility in acid solutions, where the molecules have a positive charge. The functionalization of chitosan makes it possible to significantly expand the possibilities of using both the polymer itself and hydrogels based on its derivatives. To evaluate the effect of the conditions for the production of cryo- and hydrogels based on carboxyethylchitosan (CEC) crosslinked with glutaraldehyde on gel swelling and its resistance to degradation depending on pH and cytotoxic effects and to test the hypothesis that the amount of crosslinking agent during synthesis may affect the cytotoxicity of the gel.

The central problem that Vavilov was investigating was the overall concept of global plant genetic resources. The theoretical basis of this concept consisted of the law of homologous series in variation, research on the problem of species as a system, botanical and geographical bases of plant breeding, and the key theory of the centers of origin of cultivated plants. The VIR global collection of plant genetic resources collected by Vavilov and his associates from all over the world reflects the fullness of botanical, morphological and genetic diversity, and can be used for historical, evolutionary, phylogenetic and applied breeding research aimed at unlocking the potential of all the collection material.

We studied the apoptotic death of peripheral blood lymphocytes in individuals chronically exposed to radiation with a history of obligate forms of precancerous conditions. The study included 242 subjects chronically exposed to low-intensity radiation in the range of low and medium doses (mean dose of irradiation of the red bone marrow 555±39 mGy). Of these, 121 subjects had obligate forms of precancerous conditions.

This paper presents the results of comprehensive in vivo studies into the osseointegration behavior of medical implants for maxillofacial surgery produced from nanostructured grade 4 titanium. Special attention is given to the phenomenology of bone tissue formation with consideration of its surface relief features and to evaluating the quantitative parameters of the morphological indicators of osteoblast and endothelial cells in the osseointegration zone. These parameters were compared with their measurement data for standard factory-made implants, and considerable acceleration in the fixation of nanotitanium implants due to osseointegation was found.

To date, few publications describe CEC's properties and possible applications-thus, further evaluation of these properties is a point of interest. The present in vitro model study aimed to evaluate a carboxyethylchitosan (CEC) gel with a degree of substitution of 1, cross-linked with glutaraldehyde at a polymer:aldehyde molar ratio of 10:1, as a potential carrier for delivering bacteriophages to various pH-fixed media (acidic, alkaline), and including gastrointestinal tract (GIT) variable medium. A quantitative analysis of bacteriophages released from the gel was performed using photon correlation spectrophotometry, and phage activity after emission into medium was evaluated using the spot test.

This study addresses the cervical part of the vertebral column. Clinical pictures of dystrophic diseases of the cervical part of the vertebral column do not always correspond only to the morphological changes-they may be represented by connective tissue formation and nerve and vessel compression. To find out the possible reason, this morphometric study of the cervical part of the vertebral column in 40 cadavers was performed.

We analyzed Puumala virus (PUUV) sequences collected from bank voles from different regions of Russia. Phylogenetic analysis revealed PUUV reassortments in areas with the highest hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome incidence, indicating reassortment might contribute to pathogenic properties of PUUV. Continued surveillance is needed to assess PUUV pathogenicity in Russia.

Oat is one of the most widespread and important cereal crops in the global agricultural production. Searching for new high-yielding and nutritious forms continues to be relevant, especially under the global trend of climate change, when most local oat cultivars may become economically inefficient. Spring oat accessions from VIR collection served as the material for this study; their origin is diverse, as they came from 11 countries.

Methylation of the CpG islands of gene promoter regions is the most common epigenetic modification involved in the regulation of gene expression. A number of studies have shown that ionizing radiation can cause both hyper- and hypomethylation of DNA. Aberrant methylation affects cellular processes and can lead to the development of various pathological states.

A non-surgical pharmacological approach to control cellular vitality and functionality during ischemic and/or reperfusion-induced phases of strokes remains extremely important. The synthesis of 2-ethyl-6-methyl-3-hydroxypyridinium gammalactone-2,3-dehydro-L-gulonate (3-EA) was performed using a topochemical reaction. The cell-protective effects of 3-EA were studied on a model of glutamate excitotoxicity (GluTox) and glucose-oxygen deprivation (OGD) in a culture of NMRI mice cortical cells.

The vector concept in the analysis of the electrical signals of the heart began to be used at the dawn of the development of electrocardiology. For several decades, vectorcardiography has developed in parallel with electrocardiography; reached its peak in the 60s, and after a period of cooling experienced a resurgence since the early 90s, when it became possible to mathematically synthesize vectorcardiograms (VCG) from digital electrocardiograms in 12 leads. VCG reflects the same phenomena as electrocardiography, but allows you to calculate and visualize a number of three-dimensional characteristics of the electrical signals of the heart.
