Background: Single center MRI radiomics models are sensitive to data heterogeneity, limiting the diagnostic capabilities of current prostate cancer (PCa) radiomics models.

Purpose: To study the impact of image resampling on the diagnostic performance of radiomics in a multicenter prostate MRI setting.

Study Type: Retrospective.

Reproducibility and generalization are major challenges for clinically significant prostate cancer modeling using MRI radiomics. Multicenter data seem indispensable to deal with these challenges, but the quality of such studies is currently unknown. The aim of this study was to systematically review the quality of multicenter studies on MRI radiomics for diagnosing clinically significant PCa.

Objectives: To determine the value of a deep learning masked (DLM) auto-fixed volume of interest (VOI) segmentation method as an alternative to manual segmentation for radiomics-based diagnosis of clinically significant (CS) prostate cancer (PCa) on biparametric magnetic resonance imaging (bpMRI).

Materials And Methods: This study included a retrospective multi-center dataset of 524 PCa lesions (of which 204 are CS PCa) on bpMRI. All lesions were both semi-automatically segmented with a DLM auto-fixed VOI method (averaging < 10 s per lesion) and manually segmented by an expert uroradiologist (averaging 5 min per lesion).

Objectives: To investigate a previously developed radiomics-based biparametric magnetic resonance imaging (bpMRI) approach for discrimination of clinically significant peripheral zone prostate cancer (PZ csPCa) using multi-center, multi-vendor (McMv) and single-center, single-vendor (ScSv) datasets.

Methods: This study's starting point was a previously developed ScSv algorithm for PZ csPCa whose performance was demonstrated in a single-center dataset. A McMv dataset was collected, and 262 PZ PCa lesions (9 centers, 2 vendors) were selected to identically develop a multi-center algorithm.

Objectives: To create a radiomics approach based on multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging (mpMRI) features extracted from an auto-fixed volume of interest (VOI) that quantifies the phenotype of clinically significant (CS) peripheral zone (PZ) prostate cancer (PCa).

Methods: This study included 206 patients with 262 prospectively called mpMRI prostate imaging reporting and data system 3-5 PZ lesions. Gleason scores > 6 were defined as CS PCa.

The paper deals with the impact of antisepsis on German surgery between 1872 and 1892. It describes the acceptance of Lister's treatment as the result of a therapeutic mass experiment. In the face of tremendous mortality rates in the surgical wards of general and larger academic hospitals, the evidence persuaded the critics within only few years, wile the discussion on theoretical questions was intentionally avoided.

The paper tries to assess the early female physician Agnes Bluhm (1862-1943) as one of the outstanding German female scientists of her time and draws up a connection from her achievements in early genetics to her commitments in eugenics and feminism. This leads to a more precise judgement on her position within the German racial hygiene and allows to correct misunderstandings that have assigned Bluhm to the right wing in the German women's movement.

There is a large variability between the different normograms of spirometric values, so that we designed our normogram for Buenos Aires and Gran Buenos Aires. We performed forced spirometry, under American Thoracic Society standardization, in 237 normal subjects (105 females) between 18 to 86 years old, and 144 to 194 cm. We measured Forced Vital Capacity (FVC), forced Expiratory Volume in one second (FEV1), and forced expiratory flow during the middle half of the Forced vital capacity (FEF25-75), in previously calibrated by the explosive decompressor spirometers.

In the 1820s, some years after smallpox vaccination had been introduced by most German states, physicians were faced with a seemingly new disease that they called "false smallpox" or "varioloid". The paper deals with two epidemics of "varioloid" that spread in Würzburg between 1825 and 1829. The reports of eyewitnesses, case histories, and patients records from the Julius Hospital in Würzburg are analysed with respect to the state of vaccination in this region, and in consideration of the personal, practical and scientific interests of the physicians involved.
