Background: Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) with RAM immunophenotype is a newly recognized high-risk AML immunophenotypic subcategory characterized by blasts with bright expression of CD56 and weak to absent expression of CD45, HLA-DR, and CD38, as first described by the Children's Oncology Group (COG). The relationship between AML-RAM and other CD56-positive acute leukemias is unclear. The goal of this study is to characterize the clinicopathological characteristics of AML with RAM phenotype and compare them with other CD56 co-expressing acute leukemias.

Biofloc technology is an aquaculture production system that has gained popularity with tilapia production. Probiotics provide benefits for the host and/or aquatic environments by both regulating and modulating microbial communities and their metabolites. When a probiotic feed is combined with a biofloc system, the production amount may be improved through better fish growth, disease resistance, and/or improved water quality by reducing organic matter and stabilizing metrics such as pH and components of the nitrogen cycle.

Introduction: We conducted an explanatory, sequential mixed-methods study to measure variation in the use of imaging and physical therapy (PT) for acute low back pain (LBP) and to identify implementation determinants that might explain variation in use across 22 EDs and 27 urgent cares in urban and rural locations within a community-based health system.

Methods: We described the patient population and measured concordance with LBP guideline recommendations on imaging and PT referral from January-June 2023. We conducted key informant interviews with physicians and advanced practice providers (APPs), n = 30, from these 49 sites between July - September 2023 and performed content analysis to identify implementation determinants to guideline concordance.

Objective: This study sought to externally validate and compare proposed methods for stratifying sepsis risk at emergency department (ED) triage.

Methods: This nested case/control study enrolled ED patients from four hospitals in Utah and evaluated the performance of previously-published sepsis risk scores amenable to use at ED triage based on their area under the precision-recall curve (AUPRC, which balances positive predictive value and sensitivity) and area under the receiver operator characteristic curve (AUROC, which balances sensitivity and specificity). Score performance for predicting whether patients met Sepsis-3 criteria in the ED was compared to patients' assigned ED triage score (Canadian Triage Acuity Score [CTAS]) with adjustment for multiple comparisons.

A Poly(3-hydroxybutyrate-co-3-hydroxyhexanoate) (PHBHHx) -based filament was evaluated as an alternative feedstock for Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) of instructional and clinical medical specimens. PHBHHx-based prints of domestic cat vertebrae, skull bone, and an aortic arch cast were found comparable to conventional materials. Hansen solubility parameters (HSP) of 15 commercially relevant biobased and biodegradable polyesters were experimentally determined by applying a novel approach to the classic solubility study method. In this approach, the extent of swelling in polymer films was determined using a simple equation based on the mass difference between swollen and nonswollen film samples to obtain normalized solvent uptake (). Using and HSPiP software, highly accurate HSP values were obtained for all 15 polyesters.

IgG4-related lymphadenopathy is a nodal manifestation of IgG4-related disease (IgG4RD) which is characterized by increased polytypic IgG4+ plasma cells and IgG4+/IgG+ plasma cell ratio in lymph nodes and morphologically manifested as various patterns of reactive lymphadenopathy: Castleman disease-like, follicular hyperplasia, interfollicular expansion, progressive transformation of germinal centers and inflammatory pseudotumor-like. It typically presents with solitary or multiple, mild to moderate lymph node enlargement in otherwise asymptomatic patients. The serum IgG4 level is frequently elevated but C-reactive protein often remains normal.
