Article Synopsis
  • - The systematic review aimed to explore how the chemical makeup and thickness of monolithic zirconia affect its optical and mechanical properties, using meta-analysis to assess the roles of yttrium and aluminum percentages and specimen thickness.
  • - Following PRISMA guidelines, researchers searched databases for relevant studies published in the last decade, ultimately selecting 26 articles for qualitative synthesis and 24 for quantitative analysis, ensuring the quality of experimental studies was assessed.
  • - The results indicated significant impacts of yttrium, aluminum, and thickness on zirconia's properties, with greater variability observed, which could inform clinicians on selecting appropriate zirconia types for different dental restorations.

Background: The aim of this systematic review and meta-analysis was to determine the fracture resistance and survival rate of partial indirect restorations inlays, onlays, and overlays fabricated using computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing (CAD-CAM) technology from ceramics, composite resin, resin nanoceramic, or hybrid ceramic and to analyze the influence of proximal box elevation on fracture resistance.

Materials And Methods: This systematic review was based on guidelines proposed by the preferred reporting items for systematic reviews and meta-analyses (PRISMA). An electronic search was conducted in databases US National Library of Medicine National Institutes of Health (PubMed), Scopus, Web of Science (WOS), and Embase.
