Torque Teno Virus plasma DNA load: a novel prognostic biomarker in CAR-T therapy.

Torque Teno Virus (TTV) is a single-stranded circular DNA virus which has been identified as a surrogate marker of immune competence in transplantation. In this study we investigated the dynamics of plasma TTV DNAemia in 79 adult patients undergoing chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR-T) therapy for relapsed or refractory large B-cell lymphoma, also evaluating the impact of TTV on immunotoxicities, response and survival outcomes. After lymphodepleting therapy, TTV DNA load was found to decrease slightly until reaching nadir around day 10, after which it increased steadily until reaching maximum load around day 90.

Mesotherapy with Bicalutamide: A New Treatment for Androgenetic Alopecia.

Bicalutamide is a selective androgen receptor antagonist. To date, it has been used orally with good efficacy results, but not in mesotherapy. In our center, we assessed whether patients undergoing bicalutamide mesotherapy showed positive responses and tolerated the local administration of bicalutamide.

One-year breakthrough SARS-CoV-2 infection and correlates of protection in fully vaccinated hematological patients.

The long-term clinical efficacy of SARS-CoV-2 vaccines according to antibody response in immunosuppressed patients such as hematological patients has been little explored. A prospective multicenter registry-based cohort study conducted from December 2020 to July 2022 by the Spanish Transplant and Cell Therapy group, was used to analyze the relationship of antibody response over time after full vaccination (at 3-6 weeks, 3, 6 and 12 months) (2 doses) and of booster doses with breakthrough SARS-CoV-2 infection in 1551 patients with hematological disorders. At a median follow-up of 388 days after complete immunization, 266 out of 1551 (17%) developed breakthrough SARS-CoV-2 infection at median of 86 days (range 7-391) after full vaccination.

Impact of molecular profiling on the management of patients with myelofibrosis.

CAR-T therapy in solid transplant recipients with post-transplant lymphoproliferative disease: case report and literature review.

Patients with postransplant lymphoproliferative disease (PTLD) who are refractory to rituximab-based regimens have extremely poor prognosis. Data is lacking in the setting of solid organ transplantation (SOT)-related PTLD treated with chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR-T) therapy. Moreover, limited information is available on the influence of concomitant immunosuppressive drugs on CAR-T function.

Integrated community case management and community-based health planning and services: a cross sectional study on the effectiveness of the national implementation for the treatment of malaria, diarrhoea and pneumonia.

Background: Ghana has developed two main community-based strategies that aim to increase access to quality treatment for malaria, diarrhoea and pneumonia: the Home-based Care (HBC) and the Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS). The objective was to assess the effectiveness of HBC and CHPS on utilization, appropriate treatment given and users' satisfaction for the treatment of malaria, diarrhoea and pneumonia.

Methods: A household survey was conducted 2 and 8 years after implementation of HBC in the Volta and Northern Regions of Ghana, respectively.
