Vaccine hesitancy (VH) is a pervasive issue resulting in the delay or refusal of vaccines, which are known to protect against life-threatening diseases. During the early phase of the cell cycle the eukaryotic genome is organized into chromosome territories. The geometry of the interface between any two chromosomes remains a matter of debate and may have important functional consequences. The Interchromosomal Network model (introduced by Branco and Pombo) proposes that territories intermingle along their periphery.

Minority influence: a meta-analytic review of social influence processes.

A meta-analytic review of 97 minority influence experiments evaluated the processes by which sources advocating deviant, minority opinions exert influence. Minority impact was most marked on measures of influence that were private from the source and indirectly related to the content of the appeal and less evident on direct private influence measures and on public measures. This attenuated impact of minorities on direct private and public measures suggests that in response to normative pressures, recipients avoided aligning themselves with a deviant source.

Pursuit eye movements in chronic schizophrenics: relationship between increased saccades and negative symptoms.

Smooth pursuit eye movements of chronic schizophrenics (n = 16) and controls (n = 10) were recorded while subjects tracked a sinusoidally-moving target. Negative symptoms in schizophrenics were rated using the Schedule for the Assessment of Negative Symptoms. An increased frequency of smooth pursuit eye movement abnormalities was found in the schizophrenic group, including greater variability of gain and more frequent and larger saccades.

Marginal and mindful: deviants in social interactions.

Equivocal karyotype analysis and prenatal counseling.

An uncertain amniotic fluid karyotype analysis may result in months of intense anxiety for the parents. An illustrative case demonstrates that thorough and accurate diagnostic steps, active involvement of the family physician, coordination of counseling efforts by all involved health-care professionals and attention to the social and financial concerns of the parents are helpful in this situation.
