Jaw muscle silent periods were recorded in response to a chin tap during maximal clench in asymptomatic subjects. The insertion of a palatal splint did not change the silent period duration. However, an occlusal splint, or part of it, caused a significant increase in the duration of the silent period.

In comparison with Fungizone, Econazole has the following advantageous properties: higher stability, higher solubility, better antifungal activity against contaminants of cell cultures and a wider range between minimal inhibitory to cytotoxic concentration with Aspergillus fumigatus, Candida albicans and Penicillium sp., activity against gram-positive bacteria and lower price.

The case histories are presented of three families with atrial septal defect, Type II (ASD II) in which autosomal dominant inheritance was assumed on account of the pedigree analysis. Each family member was examined serologically, morphologically and morphometrically.

Despite the falling birth rate gastroschisis occurred almost twice as often as omphalocele (19 and 12 cases, respectively). The mortality rate of 71% in omphalocele were related to large defects, rupture of the sac and associated cardiac malformations.

The mean latency did not, and the mean duration did, increase significantly with increased severity of TMJ dysfunction.
