Purpose: The purpose was to evaluate the individual and combined use of the Low Energy Availability in Females Questionnaire (LEAF-Q) and the Brief Eating Disorder in Athletes Questionnaire (BEDA-Q) to detect clinical indicators associated with Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport (REDs).

Methods: In this cross-sectional study, 50 female endurance athletes training ≥4x/week completed the LEAF-Q and BEDA-Q and were assessed for presence of selected REDs indicators. Athletes meeting the criteria for mild or more severe REDs severity/risk according to the International Olympic Committee REDs Clinical Assessment Tool Version 2 (IOC REDs CAT2) were classified as REDs cases.

Shape changes of epithelia during animal development, such as convergent extension, are achieved through the concerted mechanical activity of individual cells. While much is known about the corresponding large-scale tissue flow and its genetic drivers, fundamental questions regarding local control of contractile activity on the cellular scale and its embryo-scale coordination remain open. To address these questions, we develop a quantitative, model-based analysis framework to relate cell geometry to local tension in recently obtained time-lapse imaging data of gastrulating embryos.

Modern approaches to autogenous auricular reconstruction involve a multistage approach where ear elevation is an independent procedure. The goal is to project the reconstructed ear at an anatomically accurate and symmetric auriculocephalic angle, but postoperative scar contraction may adversely affect the long-term outcomes. An ear elevation splint was developed to provide rigid support for the auricle during the acute healing period to promote lasting elevation.

We reviewed the available evidence on psychosocial treatments for disruptive behaviors in children, as an update to Kaminski and Claussen (2017), focusing on children up to age 12 years. Search strategies, study inclusion, and treatment classification followed the procedures developed by Southam-Gerow and Prinstein (2014). Of the 44 included studies from 2016 to 2021, only 9 impacted previous results, either by increasing the level of evidence (for two treatment families) or documenting evidence for a new treatment family (four new treatment families).

Convergent extension of epithelial tissue is a key motif of animal morphogenesis. On a coarse scale, cell motion resembles laminar fluid flow; yet in contrast to a fluid, epithelial cells adhere to each other and maintain the tissue layer under actively generated internal tension. To resolve this apparent paradox, we formulate a model in which tissue flow in the tension-dominated regime occurs through adiabatic remodeling of force balance in the network of adherens junctions.

This work aims to serve as a comprehensive guide to properly characterize solid-contact ion-selective electrodes (SC-ISEs) for long-term use as they advance toward calibration-free sensors. The draft genome of strain SRB2 encodes various plant cell wall-degrading enzymes and genes associated with biofilm formation and virulence. Antibiotic resistance genes were not detected.
