Neuroimmunometabolism describes how neuroimmune cells, such as microglia, adapt their intracellular metabolic pathways to alter their immune functions in the CNS. Emerging evidence indicates that neurons also orchestrate the microglia mediated immune response through neuro-immune crosstalk perhaps through metabolic signalling. However, little is known about how the brain's metabolic microenvironment and microglial intracellular metabolism orchestrate the neuroimmune response in healthy and diseased brains.

During persistent antigen stimulation, exhausted CD8 T cells are continuously replenished by self-renewing stem-like T cells. However, how CD8 T cells adapt to chronic stimulation remains unclear. Here, we show that persistent antigen stimulation primes chromatin for regulation by the redox-sensing KEAP1-NRF2 pathway.

Precise control at the colloidal scale is one of the most promising bottom-up approaches to fabricating new materials and devices with tunable and precisely engineered properties. Magnetically driven colloidal assembly offers great versatility because of the ability to externally tune particle-particle interactions and to construct a host of particle arrangements. However, despite previous efforts to probe the parameter space, global orientational control in conjunction with two-dimensional microstructural control has remained out of reach.

Article Synopsis
  • The study investigated the significance of mean platelet volume (MPV) and MPV-to-lymphocyte ratio (MPVLR) in diagnosing and predicting outcomes in acute coronary syndrome (ACS) among Indian patients, as this area hasn't been thoroughly explored.
  • Conducted from 2020 to 2022 with 110 ACS cases and matched controls, the research revealed that both MPV and MPVLR levels were significantly higher in ACS patients compared to controls and correlated with the severity of ACS and hospital outcomes.
  • The findings suggest that while MPV and MPVLR could help differentiate between cardiac and noncardiac chest pain in clinical settings, MPV is a more reliable predictor of inhospital mortality than MPVLR.
