Introduction: The proper visualisation of the larynx is required for the diagnostic assessment and therapeutic intervention. The most significant challenges for surgeon is to visualise the anterior commissure of the glottis region. The aim of this study is to record the preoperative laryngoscore in patients posted for endolaryngeal surgery and to assess preoperative predictors for intraoperative difficult laryngeal exposure by correlating with preoperative laryngoscore.

Article Synopsis
  • Aspirated foreign bodies, like dentures, can pose challenges for doctors, particularly with removal methods that depend on factors like the foreign body's type and location, and the surgeon's experience.
  • A rare case is reported involving a 40-year-old man who aspirated a three-toothed denture during an epileptic seizure, which was difficult to remove with standard techniques but was ultimately extracted using a laryngoscopy and tracheotomy.
  • The case is notable due to its uncommon nature, including how the denture was aspirated, where it got lodged, and the unusual clinical presentation, highlighting the complexities of treating such incidents.

AZD5099 (compound 63) is an antibacterial agent that entered phase 1 clinical trials targeting infections caused by Gram-positive and fastidious Gram-negative bacteria. It was derived from previously reported pyrrolamide antibacterials and a fragment-based approach targeting the ATP binding site of bacterial type II topoisomerases. The program described herein varied a 3-piperidine substituent and incorporated 4-thiazole substituents that form a seven-membered ring intramolecular hydrogen bond with a 5-position carboxylic acid.

Schwannomas are rare, benign, slowly growing neurogenic tumors that originate in peripheral, spinal, or cranial nerves other than the optic and olfactory nerves. In the head and neck, these tumors usually arise from the vagus nerve and the cervical sympathetic chain in the parapharyngeal space. Cervical sympathetic chain schwannomas represent a rare subgroup of schwannomas; fewer than 60 cases have been reported in the literature.
