Rationale: Sirolimus is a treatment for slow-flow vascular malformations (SFVMs). However, the long-term management remains challenging.
Objectives: The SIROLO study assessed the long-term effects and real-life management of oral sirolimus for SFVMs by investigating data from 15 French tertiary centres for vascular anomalies.
gain-of-function mutations are frequently observed in sporadic arteriovenous malformations. The mechanisms underlying the progression of such -driven malformations are still incompletely understood, and no treatments for the condition are approved. Here, we show the effectiveness of sotorasib, a specific KRAS G12C inhibitor, in reducing the volume of vascular malformations and improving survival in two mouse models carrying a mosaic G12C mutation.

However, PHTS-associated DAVF remain an underexplored field of the PHTS clinical landscape. Here, we studied cases with a PTEN pathogenic variant identified between 2007 and 2020 in our laboratory (n = 58), and for whom brain imaging was available.

A systematic review was performed of all cases of ICTH in the literature since its first description in 1972. An adjudication committee reviewed cases to include only ICTHs.

Studies are lacking due to rarity of the pathology. We aimed to establish a French National Diagnosis and Care Protocol (PNDS: Protocole National de Diagnostic et de Soins), to provide health professionals with free open access synthesis on optimal management and care of patients with LMs ( https://www.

This involved an initial review by a group of experts across a broad range of fields, and then subsequent review by the Bárány Society COSC. Based upon the so far published literature, the Bárány Society COSC takes the view that the evidence supporting a mechanistic link between an illusory sensation of self-motion (i.

For symptomatic buttock arteriovenous malformations (AVMs), embolization techniques and surgical resection have been suggested as treatment options. Our aim was to evaluate the feasibility and long-term results after a single surgical resection. Twelve patients had undergone surgical resection without preoperative embolization.

AUVP manifests as an acute vestibular syndrome due to an acute unilateral loss of peripheral vestibular function without evidence for acute central or acute audiological symptoms or signs. This implies that the diagnosis of AUVP is based on the patient history, bedside examination, and, if necessary, laboratory evaluation.

The classification includes vertigo/dizziness due to stroke or transient ischemic attack as well as isolated labyrinthine infarction/hemorrhage, and vertebral artery compression syndrome. Vertigo and dizziness are among the most common symptoms of posterior circulation strokes.

The common complaints were pain and swelling (34 patients) and impaired function with contractures of fingers (15 patients). Twenty-four had complete resection and 11 had an incomplete resection.

Background: Somatic genetic variants may be the cause of extracranial arteriovenous malformations, but few studies have explored these genetic anomalies, and no genotype-phenotype correlations have been identified.
Objectives: The aim of the study was to characterize the somatic genetic landscape of extracranial arteriovenous malformations and correlate these findings with the phenotypic characteristics of these lesions.
Methods: This study included twenty-three patients with extracranial arteriovenous malformations that were confirmed clinically and treated by surgical resection, and for whom frozen tissue samples were available.
This document presents the initiative of the Bárány Society to improve diagnosis and care of patients presenting with vestibular symptoms worldwide. The Vestibular Medicine (VestMed) concept embraces a wide approach to the potential causes of vestibular symptoms, acknowledging that vertigo, dizziness, and unsteadiness are non-specific symptoms that may arise from a broad spectrum of disorders, spanning from the inner ear to the brainstem, cerebellum and supratentorial cerebral networks, to many disorders beyond these structures. The Bárány Society Vestibular Medicine Curriculum (BS-VestMed-Cur) is based on the concept that VestMed is practiced by different physician specialties and non-physician allied health professionals.

It contains a literature update while the original criteria from 2012 were left unchanged. The classification defines vestibular migraine and probable vestibular migraine.

The aim of the present international, multi-center, cross-sectional study was to systematically characterize the clinical picture of recurrent vestibular symptoms not otherwise specified (RVS-NOS) and to compare it to MD and VM. Thirty-five patients with RVS-NOS, 150 patients with VM or probable VM and 119 patients with MD were included in the study.

In addition to the presence of a dehiscence of the superior semicircular canal on high resolution imaging, patients diagnosed with SCDS must also have symptoms and physiological tests that are both consistent with the pathophysiology of a 'third mobile window' syndrome and not better accounted for by another vestibular disease or disorder. The diagnosis of SCDS therefore requires a combination of A) at least one symptom consistent with SCDS and attributable to 'third mobile window' pathophysiology including 1) hyperacusis to bone conducted sound, 2) sound-induced vertigo and/or oscillopsia time-locked to the stimulus, 3) pressure-induced vertigo and/or oscillopsia time-locked to the stimulus, or 4) pulsatile tinnitus; B) at least 1 physiologic test or sign indicating that a 'third mobile window' is transmitting pressure including 1) eye movements in the plane of the affected superior semicircular canal when sound or pressure is applied to the affected ear, 2) low-frequency negative bone conduction thresholds on pure tone audiometry, or 3) enhanced vestibular-evoked myogenic potential (VEMP) responses (low cervical VEMP thresholds or elevated ocular VEMP amplitudes); and C) high resolution computed tomography (CT) scan with multiplanar reconstruction in the plane of the superior semicircular canal consistent with a dehiscence.

Migraine plays an important role in some subgroups of children with recurrent vertigo. In this classification paper a spectrum of three disorders is described in which the migraine component varies from definite to possibly absent.

Methods: Over the period of 2009-2019, 18 consecutive females underwent surgical resection for vulvar VM. Evaluations included preoperative Doppler ultrasound, MRI, and pre-and postoperative photographic imaging.
Introduction: Superior canal dehiscence syndrome (SCDS) is characterized by a defect in the bone overlying the superior semicircular canal. This third mobile window generates an abnormal low-impedance pathway for sound/pressure transmission into the inner ear resulting in the characteristic symptoms.
Objective: To perform a prospective analysis of symptoms in patients with SCDS.
This opinion statement proposes a set of candidacy criteria for vestibular implantation of adult patients with bilateral vestibulopathy (BVP) in a research setting. The criteria include disabling chronic symptoms like postural imbalance, unsteadiness of gait and/or head movement-induced oscillopsia, combined with objective signs of reduced or absent vestibular function in both ears. These signs include abnormal test results recorded during head impulses (video head impulse test or scleral coil technique), bithermal caloric testing and rotatory chair testing (sinusoidal stimulation of 0.
