Background: Despite being cornerstone medications for managing gastrointestinal disorders, proton pump inhibitors (PPI) have raised concerns due to inappropriate prescribing and overutilization, their potential side effects, and interactions with other medications. General practitioners (GPs) provide long-term patient follow-up and are targets to promote PPI deprescribing to reach the widest possible population. GPs practicing in rural settings encounter unique challenges as their numbers dwindle and their workload increases.

Background: In France, consumption of antidepressant drugs by children and teenagers has been on the rise, even though recommendations for use are limited due to their association with serious adverse reactions. The objective of this study was to describe the patterns of antidepressant drug dispensing among children and adolescents in the French region of Midi-Pyrenees.
Method: The data regarding the Midi-Pyrenees region were extracted from the French Health Insurance Database (SNDS) using their ATC codes.
Objective: To develop a practical guide for the management of child and adolescent depression for general practitioners (GPs), suited to their practice frame, that can be implemented on a website aimed to help GPs to manage the main mental disorders encountered in primary care.
Method: A systematic meta-review was performed as recommended by the PRISMA statement. Each step, articles' selection, inclusion, methodological assessment and data extraction for the narrative synthesis was independently performed by two researchers.
Objectives: Benzodiazepines and related drugs are the most commonly prescribed drugs in the treatment of insomnia, and referral to psychotherapy is rare when recommended as first-line treatment for chronic insomnia. The frequency of referral to psychologists, of use of alternative drugs to benzodiazepines, either prescribed by general practitioners (GPs) or dispensed by community pharmacies, is unknown in France. We aimed to describe the non-pharmacological approaches recommended, such as cognitive behavioral therapies (CBT), and the drugs, including alternatives drugs to benzodiazepines, used by GPs and community pharmacies for patients complaining of insomnia.

The objective was to evaluate the satisfaction of the GPs who participated to a pharmacovigilance ADR declaration support network via a clinical research assistant (CRA) moving to their GP office in the French South-West region of Midi-Pyrénées.
Study Design: A satisfaction questionnaire was sent to the 59 active GPs of this network in November 2016.
Aim: The aim of our study was to study the pattern of prescription of direct-acting oral anticoagulants (DOACs) according to the French recommendations.
Methods: We performed a cross-sectional study using anonymous data of patients covered by the French National Health Insurance information system (SNIIRAM) from 1 January 2010 to 31 December 2013 in the area of Midi-Pyrénées (southwest of France).
Results: Of the 355,608 patients identified, 325,216 (91.
Context: General Practitioners (GPs) are the leading antidepressants prescribers in Europe and in France. Difficulties in implementing existing recommendations in daily practice have been described.
Objective: The objective of this study was to elaborate two algorithms to guide GPs in the patient management for a first major depressive disorder (MDD) or generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) episode in primary care.
Introduction: Antipapillomavirus vaccination is used to prevent genital infection by papilloma virus, responsible for a high morbidity. In France, the High Council for Public Health published on September 28th 2012 a new guideline decreasing the age of vaccination from 16 to between 11 to 14 allowing a joint vaccination with mandatory tetravalent or trivalent (against diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis and poliomyelitis Tdap-IPV or Td/IPV booster) vaccination. Our study aimed to assess if this guideline changed the rate of joint vaccinations.

Some cases of humeral osteoblastomas have been described in literature but not in men older than 30. We report the case of a painless bone tumor on the humerus of a 52-year-old patient.

Background: Generic substitution has been permitted for several years in France and is promoted in order to reduce health expenditures. However, reluctance concerning use of generic drugs exists for different reasons: suspicions about their efficacy and/or safety, differences in content (excipients) and discussions about bioequivalency. The aim of our study was to determine whether or not the substitution ratio differs according to pharmacological classes used in primary care.
