Size controllable one step synthesis of gold nanoparticles using carboxymethyl chitosan.

Gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) were synthesized by reducing chloroauric acid with nontoxic and biodegradable carboxymethyl chitosan (CMC) as dual roles of reducing agent and stabilizer. Several CMC with different molecular parameters, i.e.
