Positive surgical margins following radical prostatectomy significantly contribute to tumor recurrence. While systemic chemotherapy demonstrates limited efficacy in this context, local chemotherapy drug delivery systems based on nanomaterials offer promising strategies to address this issue by modifying drug release kinetics and distribution, thereby enhancing antitumor effects while minimizing the toxicities associated with systemic chemotherapy. In this study, we utilized electrospun nanofibrous mats loaded with docetaxel for sustained drug delivery.

The liver resident macrophages, Kupffer cells, form the hepatic firewall to clear many encapsulated bacteria in the blood circulation but fail to control certain high-virulence capsule types. Here we report that the spleen is the backup immune organ to clear the liver-resistant serotypes of (pneumococcus), a leading human pathogen.

However, the limited temporal resolution due to the high electric field inside the nanopore and the lack of an effective speed control strategy have hindered the realization of sequencing. Here, we reported a quad-array (four nanopores milled with ∼30 nm interpore spacing as a detection unit) that induced a redistribution of the electric field inside and outside the nanopore array and offered high-resolution discrimination of four ssDNA homopolymer types.

The matured myelin sheath is crucial for substance transportation within the extracellular space (ECS) and for maintaining local homeostasis. Therefore, we hypothesize that disturbed ECS transportation following demyelinating lesions might lead to neurochemical imbalance in MS.

Here, a new compressible and stretchable biphasic liquid-solid self-healing circuit is proposed by filling GalnSn-BilnSn biphasic metal into micropillar-embedded channels. The underlying BilnSn solid alloy layer serves as a compression resistance layer, while the upper GalnSn liquid metal layer enables the real-time filling of the cracks in the solid layer under large deformations, resulting in autonomous self-healing and maintenance of conductivity under both stretching and compression.

However, current THz topological chips rely on volatile tuning mechanisms that require continuous power to function. Here, a nonvolatile, programmable THz topological silicon chip is demonstrated that integrates a waveguide-cavity coupled system with phase-change material, GeSbTe (GST), enabling persistent and efficient functionality without constant power input.

Arbitrary ratio power splitters (APSs) play a crucial role in enhancing the flexibility of photonic integrated circuits (PICs) on the silicon-on-insulator (SOI) platform. However, most existing APSs are designed with two output channels, limiting their functionality. In this study, we present a shape optimization method to develop a multiport arbitrary ratio power splitter (MAPS) that enables arbitrary power distribution across three output channels within a compact footprint of 6 µm × 2.
