Piperlongumine, a natural product from traditional Chinese medicine, shows promising antitumor effects but suffers from high toxicity. In this study, X and Q series Piperlongumine derivatives containing 1, 2, 3-triazole were designed and synthesized using the principle of molecular hybridization. The antitumor activity of these target compounds was evaluated, revealing significant activity compared to piperlongumine across four cancer cell lines.

The convenient liver model in vitro recapitulating the hepatic functions, metabolism, and even steatohepatitis to perform the accurate drug evaluation is still challenging because of the unattainable hominine physiological microenvironment in vitro. Here, the progressed stages of nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) disease were precisely modeled to accurately evaluate the performance of antilipemic based on the dynamic liver chip adopting the well-coupled microfluidics, which well recapitulated the normal and steatohepatitis of liver in vitro. In brief, the mild nutrient flow and sufficient oxygen supply for parenchymal liver cells could be well supplied through the endothelial cells layer that mimicked the real physiological barrier of endothelium, while the loading of drugs might be obtained by directly adding drug into the running nutrient flow to mimic the intravenously administrable.

A rapid photoelectrochemical (PEC) sensor was constructed for nitrite detection in food based on the one-step chemical etching strategy of BiOCl/ZnCdS (BOC/ZCS) nanocomposites by nitrite. BOC/ZCS heterojunction was prepared by a simple coprecipitation method, and it was found that BOC/ZCS showed significant photoelectrochemical (PEC) activity. The results of this study confirmed that the decrease in the photocurrent of the sensor was linked to the etching of ZCS by nitrite under acidic conditions.

The clinical characteristics of the participants were recorded, and parameters including the number of vortex vein roots (NVVR), the central vortex vein diameter (CVVD), the mean root area of the vortex vein (MRAVV), and the weighted mean of the thickest branch diameter (WMTBD) were obtained by marking the vortex veins on indocyanine green angiography (ICGA).

In this study, high internal phase Pickering emulsions (HIPPEs) were stabilized by the complexes of peanut protein isolate (PPI) and cellulose nanocrystals (CNCs) for encapsulation β-carotene to retard its degradation during processing and storage. CNCs were prepared by HSO hydrolysis (HCNCs), APS oxidation (ACNCs) and TEMPO oxidation (TCNCs), exhibiting needle-like or rod-like structures with nanoscale size and uniformly distributed around the spherical PPI particle, which enhanced the emulsifying capability of PPI. Results of optical micrographs and droplet size measurement showed that Pickering emulsions stabilized by PPI/ACNCs complexes exhibited the most excellent stability after 30 days of storage, which indicated that ACNCs had the most obvious effect to improve emulsifying capability of PPI.
