[Value of DAPK Gene Methylation Patterns in the Diagnosis of Leukemia].

Objective: To screen the differential methylation patterns of tumor suppressor gene DAPK and evaluate its value as a biomarker for the diagnosis of leukemia.

Methods: The methylation status of DAPK gene promoter's CpG island was analyzed in the genomes of normal human white blood cells and HL-60, U937 and Jurkat cell lines by bisulfite sequencing PCR (BSP). The effectiveness of differential methylation patterns of DAPK gene for diagnosis of leukemia was verified in the leukemia cell lines and peripheral blood samples by methylation specific PCR (MSP).

[Improvement and Evaluation on Bisulfite Modification of DNA for DNA Methylation Detection].

Objective: To establish a rapid and convenient method of DNA modification by bisulfite sodium for the detection of DNA methylation.

Methods: Through increasing the bisulfite sodium concentration and the temperature of treatment, cutting down the modification time, besides using glassmilk to adsorb the DNA in the purification and recovery, to improve the methods of DNA modification. Efficiency of cytosine converted to thymine in MAGE-A3 gene and DAP-K gene fragments were analyzed by bisulfite sequencing PCR in order to evaluate the DNA modification effect among the improved method, traditional method and kit method.

[Effects of Wenyang Huazhuo Tongluo Recipe Containing Serum on Transforming Growth Factor β1/ Smad Signaling Pathway of Skin Fibroblasts in Systemic Sclerosis].

Objective: To explore the effects of Wenyang Huazhuo Tongluo Recipe (WYHZTLR) containing serum on transforming growth factor β1 (TGF-β1)/Smad signaling pathway of skin fibroblasts in systemic sclerosis (SSc).

Methods: Totally 36 SSc patients were randomly assigned to Chinese medicine (CM) group, Western medicine (WM) group, and integrative medicine (IM) group according to random digit table, 12 in each group. Patients in the CM group took WYHZTLR decoction (one dose per day).

[Effect of Wenyang Huazhuo Tongluo Recipe on Peripheral Blood Thl7/Treg Cell Balance in Systemic Sclerosis Patients].

Objective: To observe the effect of Wenyang Huazhuo Tongluo Recipe (WYHZTLR) on the proportion of T helper 17 cells (Thl7)/regulatory T cells (Treg), and serum levels of IL-17 and IL-10 in peripheral blood of systemic sclerosis (SSc) patients with yang qi insufficiency and turbidity induced collaterals blockage syndrome (YQITICBS).

Methods: Totally 82 SSc patients were randomly assigned to the Western medicine group (as the control group) and the integrated Chinese and Western medicine group (as the treatment group), 41 cases in each group. All patients took methotrexate (MTX) tablet and prednisone tablet.

Involvement of XZFP36L1, an RNA-binding protein, in Xenopus neural development.

Xenopus ZFP36L1 (zinc finger protein 36, C3H type-like 1) belongs to the ZFP36 family of RNA-binding proteins, which contains two characteristic tandem CCCH-type zinc-finger domains. The ZFP36 proteins can bind AU-rich elements in 3' untranslated regions of target mRNAs and promote their turnover. However, the expression and role of ZFP36 genes during neural development in Xenopus embryos remains largely unknown.

Characterization of the immune defense related tissues, cells, and genes in amphioxus.

Amphioxus is an important animal model for phylogenetic analysis, including comparative immunology. Exploring the immune system in amphioxus contributes to our understanding of the origin and evolution of the vertebrate immune system. We investigated the amphioxus immune system using ultrastructural examination and in situ hybridization.

Invasion of erythroblasts by Pasmodium vivax: A new mechanism contributing to malarial anemia.

Severe malarial anemia causes considerable mortality and morbidity in endemic areas. Possible mechanisms underlying the anemia include lysis of parasitized and nonparasitized red cells as well as parasite product-mediated effects on erythropoiesis. The latter include suppression of erythropoiesis, dyserythropoiesis, and ineffective erythropoiesis.

Objective: To investigate the effect of "Wenyang Huazhuo Tongluo recipe" (WYHZTLR) on proliferation and cell cycle of systemic sclerosis (SSc) skin fibroblasts in vitro by serum pharmacologic technique.

Methods: Prednisone, D-penicillamine and WYHZTLR contained serum from patients with SSc were respectively added into cultured normal dermal fibroblast cell-line and SSc lesional dermal fibroblast cell-line. Then the cells were incubated for 48 hours.

Myofibroblast transformation in metastatic extramedullary chronic myeloid leukemia: a case report.

Primary and metastatic carcinomas have a reactive stroma characterized by many myofibroblasts. These cells have also been documented in nonepithelial malignancies, such as sarcomas, malignant melanoma, and lymphoid tumors but in generally far fewer numbers. In non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease, and leukemia, myofibroblasts are rather rarely documented.

Developmental expression of amphioxus RACK1.

Vertebrate RACK1 plays a key role in embryonic development. This paper described the cloning, phylogenetic analysis and developmental expression of AmphiRACK1, the RACK1 homologous gene in amphioxus. Phylogenetic analysis indicated that amphioxus RACK1 was located at the base of vertebrate clade.

[Clinical trial and evaluation on comprehensive treatment on attack in acute stage: report of 522 cases].

Objective: To investigate the clinical effect of the comprehensive treatment to acute stage of attack.

Methods: On the basis of the previous observation, the study of the randomization control with general treatment, treatment on acupuncture and western medical treatment were carried out. A comprehensive treatment on overall traditional Chinese medical differentiation according to the superiority of every treatment was assessed and evaluated in 522 patients with attack.
