A phytochemical study on the stems and leaves of led to the isolation and identification of a new monoterpenoid indole alkaloid, taberboviline (), together with seven known monoterpenoid indole alkaloids (2-8). The chemical structure of was elucidated on the basis of extensive spectral data analyses and the known compounds were identified by comparing their experimental spectral data with the reported data in the literature. All isolated indole alkaloids were evaluated for their antiproliferative activities against five human cancer cell lines .

The chemical constituents from the stems and leaves of Mycetia hainanensis were isolated by silica gel, ODS gel, and Sephadex LH-20 gel column chromatography and preparative HPLC. The chemical structures of all the isolated compounds were identified on the basis of their physicochemical properties, spectroscopic data, as well as the comparison of their physicochemical and spectroscopic data with the reported data in literature. Twelve compounds were isolated from the 85% ethanol extract of the stems and leaves of M.
