G-quadruplexes (G4s) are unique nucleic acid structures composed of guanine-rich (G-rich) sequences that can form diverse topologies based on the arrangement of their four strands. G4s have attracted attention for their potential roles in various biological processes and human diseases. In this review, we focus on the G4 structures formed by human telomeric sequences, (GGGTTA), and the hexanucleotide repeat expansion, (GGGGCC), in the first intron region of the chromosome 9 open reading frame 72 () gene, highlighting their structural diversity and biological significance.

Chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) exhibits significant heterogeneity and has been generally classified as type 1 (T1), T2, and T3 endotypes according to the histopathologic and inflammatory features of the nasal mucosa. T2 inflammation has been regarded as the predominant endotype of CRS linked to disease severity and refractory conditions. The development of biological agents that specifically target key molecules involved in T2 inflammation offers a highly effective and promising therapeutic approach for CRS.

Background: Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer-related death worldwide, of which anaplastic lymphoma kinase fusion positive ( ) non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) accounts for 3-7. Here, we identified a new fusion gene (P1, A19) from a patient with advanced lung squamous cell carcinoma (LUSC) by next-generation sequencing (NGS). We aimed to evaluate its oncogenic potential by performing functional studies and tumorigenicity of this fusion protein.

Currently, the low efficiency and pollution issues associated with biological and chemical methods for the preparation of functional peptides continue to pose challenges, restricting the large-scale production and utilization of functional peptides. This study has found that the ultrasound-assisted organic acid-surfactant system is an efficient and green method for the preparation of functional peptides. The probe ultrasonication-assisted tartaric acid system successfully degraded oat globulins into peptides with a degree of hydrolysis (DH) of 22.

Realizing efficient solid-state fluorescence in covalent organic frameworks (COFs) represents a persistent and fundamental challenge in materials science, hindering their application in next-generation optoelectronics. Herein, a transformative strategy leveraging σ-π hyperconjugation is introduced to enhance the fluorescence properties of COFs. The incorporation of a methyl group into a pyrene-based COF monomer yields an unprecedented fluorescence quantum yield increase of more than 100-fold, accompanied by significantly enhanced optoelectronic performance.

Background: Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) is an emerging biomarker in malignant melanoma(MM), and high levels of ctDNA may reflect a higher tumor load. However, its prognostic value for MM receiving immune checkpoint inhibitors(ICI) remains controversial. This meta-analysis aimed to elucidate the prognostic significance of ctDNA in this patient population.

The presence of a positive deep surgical margin in tongue squamous cell carcinoma (TSCC) significantly elevates the risk of local recurrence. Therefore, a prompt and precise intraoperative assessment of margin status is imperative to ensure thorough tumor resection. In this study, we integrate Raman imaging technology with an artificial intelligence (AI) generative model, proposing an innovative approach for intraoperative margin status diagnosis.

Objectives: This study introduces a novel classification approach that combines convolutional neural network (CNN) and Raman mapping to differentiate between tongue squamous cell carcinoma (TSCC) and non-tumorous tissue, as well as to identify different histological grades of TSCC.

Materials And Methods: In this study, 240 Raman mappings data from 30 tissue samples were collected from 15 patients who had undergone surgical resection for TSCC. A total of 18,000 sub-mappings extracted from Raman mappings were then used to train and test a CNN model, which extracted feature representations that were subsequently processed through a fully connected network to perform classification tasks based on the Raman mapping data.

The synthesis of covalent organic frameworks (COFs) with excellent luminescent properties and their effective application in the field of bionic sensing remain a formidable challenge. Herein, a series of COFs with different numbers of hydroxyl groups are successfully synthesized, and the number of hydroxyl groups on the benzene-1,3,5-tricarbaldehyde (BTA) linker influences the properties of the final COFs. The COF (HHBTA-OH) prepared with hydrazine hydrate (HH) and BTA containing one hydroxyl group as the ligands exhibits the best fluorescent performance.
