Background: The reevaluation and management of seizure relapse following resective surgery in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)-negative pharmacoresistant epilepsy remains a significant challenge.

Observations: A 25-year-old right-handed male with medically refractory epilepsy presented with nonlocalizing electroencephalography (EEG) and MRI. Stereo-EEG (SEEG) implantation based on semiology and positron emission tomography imaging revealed a left frontal opercular focus with rapid bilateral insular ictal synchrony.

Preoperative ultrasonography for tumor thickness evaluation in guiding management in patients with early oral tongue squamous cell carcinoma.

Objectives: (1) To assess the statistical correlation between the tumor thickness (TT) by ultrasonography (USG) and microscopic measurement in cases of early oral tongue squamous cell carcinoma (OTSCC). (2) To assess the predictive capacity of TT by ultrasound in detecting nodal metastasis.

18-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography-computed tomography (PET-CT) is an integral part of imaging in the follow-up of head and neck malignancies. Very often distinguishing inflammatory/infective from malignant recurrence cannot be made confidently with standard uptake value (SUV) alone, as inflammatory lesions have shown to have a very high SUV, and in some cases both can co-exist. In such doubtful cases, dual time PET-CT (3-5 h delayed) is of paramount importance in confidently differentiating inflammatory/infective from a malignant cause.

Trichosporon asahii infection presenting as chronic meningo-ventriculitis and intra ventricular fungal ball: a case report and literature review.

Central nervous system trichosporonosis is a rare clinical entity and so far only six cases including three each of brain abscess and meningitis has been on record. We report a rare case of chronic meningo-ventriculitis and intraventricular fungal ball due to Trichosporon asahii in an 18-year-old immunocompetent male from Burundi, east Africa. Neuroendoscopy showed multiple nodules and a fungal ball within the ventricle, which on culture grew T.
